WHICH DOGS SHOULD BE POTTY

It’s helpful if you have a grown dog who
doesn’t produce a lot of waste. But there are
drawbacks to this if your dog is larger than toy
sized. Also, if the pet is a male, then he’ll be apt
to lift his leg at some point. If this happens, your
dog’s aim may be off. So, don’t be surprised if
they miss a few times or often in this situation.

HOW TO DECIDE IF IT IS FOR YOU
You must take all things into
consideration, such as who will be home
with the pet if anyone, your dog’s personality,
the accessibility of the potty area, etc. If you are
one of the lucky few that work from home and
get to take Sparky out on nice strolls several
times a day, that is great. But most of us don’t
live that way. An outside house-training option
is probably best for you and your dog. But, what
if you are an older person or someone who has
a handicap and can’t move around too much?
HOW TO HOUSE-TRAIN YOUR

Walking the dog might be easy for your
neighbor who stays home, but it might be hard
for you. If this sounds like you, the best housetraining
plan takes place in your home. Training
a dog indoors is ideal. Maybe you stay in the city
in a tall apartment building. If your dog looks
like it is in need of a bathroom break, it isn’t an
option to just hook them up to a leash and head
to a doggie toilet spot. Rather, you may need to
walk your dog through the apartment halls, ride
down the elevator and then head outside.
