Environment
Victoria Foundation seeks to advance the preservation and stewardship of
open spaces and healthy watersheds in New Jersey. This includes conservation
of land that protects the State’s drinking water, with special attention given to
open space under threat of inappropriate development. The mission also
includes a commitment to improve Newark’s urban environment by expanding
green spaces, addressing environmental justice issues, and promoting
sustainability initiatives.
Environmental Goals and Priorities
• The permanent protection of environmentally-sensitive open space in the
New Jersey Highlands, the Pine Barrens, and the Kittatinny Ridge & Valley
region.
• A strong Statewide nonprofit land trust and conservation community.
• An urban environment in Newark that supports the ability of children and
families to live productive and healthy lives.
