Barangay <strong>of</strong>fi cials, in turn, take<br />
charge <strong>of</strong> disseminating information<br />
about the visit, including the date<br />
<strong>of</strong> visit and the services that will be<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered to the barangay residents<br />
so that they can come and avail <strong>of</strong><br />
these services.<br />
Actual Visit. During the actual visit,<br />
LGU staff are encouraged to bring<br />
their own food or “baon” so as not<br />
to burden the host barangay. A<br />
Agricultural services (de-worming, seedlings distribution,<br />
barangay visit usually carries the<br />
consultations, etc.)<br />
following government services:<br />
Medical and dental services<br />
Agricultural services (deworming, seedlings distribution, cooking demonstration,<br />
consultations with the Ats, distribution <strong>of</strong> Biologics<br />
Civil Registration/Wedding services<br />
Real property tax assessment/billing/collection<br />
Lectures (capacity building) – from all other local agencies pertaining to their respective<br />
<strong>of</strong>fi ces<br />
Free legal consultation services<br />
Free haircut services<br />
Other services solicited from government agencies and NGOs<br />
Post Visit Activities. After the barangay visit, each department has to evaluate the experience<br />
and generate data on the following:<br />
Number <strong>of</strong> services provided<br />
Number <strong>of</strong> benefi ciaries<br />
Amount collected<br />
Number <strong>of</strong> newly registered persons<br />
Sustaining <strong>PAK</strong> through Bayanihan<br />
To sustain the projects initiated during the barangay visits, barangays are commit to<br />
implementing and monitoring these projects. In the implementation <strong>of</strong> these barangay<br />
development projects, the “bayanihan” system is used to reduce expenses in labor component.<br />
In this way, the people gradually develop a sense <strong>of</strong> ownership and responsibility towards the<br />
LGU projects implemented in their community.
