RUST magazine: RUST 6 is here, taking a good long look at rallying, asking lots of questions and realising that it’s actually well within reach; then there’s Jonny Walker talking stress, relationships, mates, windows, the Lake District and maybe even bikes; in Long Termers JB aims low, sure to reach his goals, Warren aims high but you gotta aim high to finish high surely?; a reader challenges the TRF to agree less is more; and bizarrely RC, the GOAT, gets Gazza confused with an MXdN legend...

Tested
We chose the 7/8” SEs (Seven-Eighths, get it?) in
CR Mid bend and they were perfect for the Honda.
As we were fitting them to a road bike we needed to
drill a couple of holes, just as appear in the OE bars,
for the tabs on the switchgear, but this wasn’t an issue
– and we remembered to chamfer those holes so as
to not make stress points.
To these we added Pro Taper’s soft grips and these
again were just perfect. These are slim grips, grippy,
as you’ll need on wet or muddy days, but the comfort
is surprisingly high. So far they’ve lasted well, but at
only just over £8 (€11) a time they’re cheap enough to
The Pro Taper soft grips are well,
grippy, even on the wettest of
days but surprisingly comfy too...
not worry about frequent rep
stuck them on with Pro Tape
was a wise choice. The glue
the grips in position, but sinc
not budged so much as a m
soakings. We were going to
but never got around to it, th
than good enough.
We finished off the control
pair of bum-basic Polisport h
fancy about these, there are
just the plastic, but they bolt
done the job ever since. We
big fall, but set against mile
down in the green lanes the
They look smart too.
