Research Evening<br />

The grants were presented to the successful applicants at the AFWA Awards night at the Telethon Institute<br />

for Child Health Research during National Asthma Week. Awards were presented by Foundation President,<br />

Mr Anthony Carter. Professor James gave a transparent interpretation of the aims of each funded project.<br />

Emeritus Professor Lou Landau from School of Paediatrics and Child Health<br />

and Child Health at the University of Western Australia was the evening’s<br />

guest speaker and provided some personal insights as to the importance<br />

that Asthma Foundation WA funding plays to research in Western Australia.<br />

Acknowledgements<br />

The Board and staff thank the McCusker Charitable Foundation for its<br />

financial support contributing $20,000 towards the Asthma Foundation<br />

WA’s research grants again this year.<br />

The Board would also like to thank the Asthma Foundation WA staff, David<br />

Johnson and Yolanda Arcaro, for their dedication and enthusiasm for the<br />

cause of asthma research.<br />
