Students’ Views

Hello, we know that you are probably feeling worried and scared of
coming up to Ossett Academy but really it’s not all that bad. We know
how it feels to be scared of being late to lessons, getting a detention,
been lost and forgetting homework. However in the first couple of
weeks the teachers help a lot and so do all the students at Ossett
Academy. If you’re late to lessons, then don’t worry - explain to the
teachers and we are sure everything will be okay. When you get to
Ossett Academy there are more interesting lessons and things to do
such as; rugby, football, hockey, rounder’s, netball, cricket, languages,
ADT, drama, science and music .
You may worry about being bullied… DON’T! Everyone at Ossett Academy is really nice (they
won’t bite!). Some people worry about getting lost but there is always someone to ask. Even we
had to ask someone at some point but really so did everyone. Now however, we both know
where everything is around school and the only way we now know all of this is because we
asked. If you have any other worries or queries you can always ask an achievement officer at
student services.
THINGS TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
• All the new clubs you can do after school and at lunch.
• The new P.E lessons.
• The in-depth Art and Technology lessons.
• Improved science lessons and practicals.
• The wide variety of books in the LRC.
• Drama and cooking lessons.
• The new and improved Fitness suite.
