WHAT DOES HACCP MEAN?<br />
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a standardised management system that describes<br />
how to systematically map, assess and control hazards in the production of food with the purpose of<br />
ensuring food safety for consumers. These may concern microbiological, chemical, allergenic and physical<br />
hazards. In the EU, it is a requirement that companies that handle foods must apply HACCP, with selfassessment,<br />
which must also be based on good hygiene practices (GHP). For workwear, this means no<br />
external openings (pockets) are permitted above the waist, that pockets on lower parts must be covered<br />
and that fastenings must be metal and securely attached (snap fastenings) etc.<br />
