EN ISO 20471 –
AN INTERNATIONAL STANDARD
FOR YOUR SAFETY
All our garments are certified according to the new standard for high visibility
garments, EN ISO 20471, which replaced EN 471 in 2013. The new standard requires
high visibility garments to be tested after washing. This increases the safety and
ensures that the quality is the same both before and after washing. In addition, all
reflective tapes are now included in the highest category i.e. category 2 in the former
EN 471. Apart from the products’ EN ISO 20471 certification, all the garments are
tested in our laboratory to provide all of our users the maximum possible safety.
COMFORT AND
FUNCTION
The design of the garments is based
on the idea that they should fit well
so they are comfortable to wear
and easy to work in. At the same
time, they should provide all the
functions needed in day-to-day
work. The materials are carefully
tested to withstand tough working
conditions while complying with all
the requirements for international
certifications.
VISIBILITY
AT NIGHT
Reflective tape increases the
visibility in the evening and at night.
The positioning of the reflective
tapes on the garments is carefully
tested to provide the maximum
visibility. We only use reflective tape
of the highest quality, which meets
high washing requirements and is
durable. We are now introducing
double stitching on all of our
reflective tapes to give even better
durability.
VISIBILITY
DAYTIME
To make the garments visible in
daylight, we use certified materials
in fluorescent colours. The colours
must withstand many washes and
abrasions without fading. In most
cases, the products are designed
with dark contrasting colours, which
are placed on the points that are
most exposed to soiling and wear.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR
HIGH VISIBILITY GARMENTS
MATERIAL PLU
Dirty garments provide poorer protection.
High visibility garments should be washed
separately or together with other garments
that are approved according to EN 471/
EN ISO 20471. Wash them inside out.
Follow the washing instructions on the
garment. Do not use detergents containing
optical whiteners. Do not use fabric softeners
or bleaching agents. Close all zips before
washing. GORE-TEX ® garments should be
tumble dried or ironed at low temperature.
The heat helps to reactivate the impregnation.
PLU is the main material in our unlined collection. PLU
is a fluorescent material with well-tested durability and
comfort. The material is 80% polyester and 20% cotton,
where the cotton is on the inside of the fabric and provides
extra comfort next to the skin. In addition, it is treated to be
dirt, oil and water-repellent. We combine this with our LUXE
quality on areas that are more exposed to dirt – a durable
and comfortable material in 65% polyester and 35% cotton.
The materials and reflective tapes are selected to satisfy our
high requirements for quality. All PLU garments are tested for
industrial washing and withstand at least 50 washes at 85°.
All garments are OEKO-TEX ® certified.
