Centre for round 12, Football NSW’s
Heritage Round, of the PlayStation®4
National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s
competition. Sydney United 58 FC entertain
Blacktown City in what will surely be an
exciting game between first and second on
the current Premiership ladder.
Today we commend and we pay respects to
all our past players, coaches and fans who
throughout their times, devoted everything
for the club.
We salute you.
The boys are coming off a fantastic 4-1
victory against Hakoah Sydney City East
which saw Chris Payne score a hat-trick,
jumping out right leader in the goalscorer’s
charts. While our opponents today,
Blacktown City, with ten men, defeated
Manly United 2-1.
We wish the Blacktown City players, staff
and fans the best of luck.

Sydney United holds a one-point lead in first
place and has been the gold standard this season
with only one loss from its first 11 games.
That loss was to Blacktown City and it is surely
something Mark Crittenden is going to remind
his second placed Blacktown side ahead of the
match.
Both sides have an array of attacking weapons
with Chris Payne, Panni Nikas and Robert Mileski
set to do battle with the prolific City front trio of
Travis Major, Danny Choi and Joey Gibbs.
It is going to be an all in battle and neither side is
going to hold back in a match that could be one
of the games of the season.

Blacktown City will look to get their
championship campaign back on track when
they visit 11th placed Sydney United at Sydney
United Sports Centre on Sunday.
the competition frontrunners back in the first
round of the season; they will hope to finish the
job for a crucial win should they be offered a
second chance.
The match precedes what looms to be the
match of the 2016 PlayStation 4 NPL NSW Men’s
season so far where the two first grade Sydney
and Blacktown teams have been standout
challengers.
But this is sure to be match capable of offering
highlights of a similar calibre with Blacktown City
sensing an opportunity to regain ground at the
top knowing second placed Manly travel to third
placed Sutherland the day before.
Similarly there is a lot on the line for Davor
Bajsic’s Sydney who demonstrated their quality
when they raced to a 2-0 half-time lead against

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT GUIDE
The Women’s Football Development Guide has
been created for community football clubs
to develop women’s football and increase the
number of females participating in the game at
all levels.
It contains examples of strategies, initiatives and
real life situations to assist clubs in developing
programs aimed at servicing and growing the
women’s game.
Over 300 female football stakeholders completed
a national survey, providing valuable content
and advice on female engagement. The survey
output was collated and in turn formed the basis
of this comprehensive guide. Focus groups with
experts from different backgrounds (playing,
coaching, refereeing and administration) were
also conducted to elicit valuable information.
Additionally, female participation research
has been sourced from various local and
international resources, journal articles, books
and websites to provide insight into the needs of
females participating in sport.
The guide is available online, we hope that it
will assist you and your club to deliver women’s
football to the highest possible standard and
attract more females to our game.

Sydney United 58 4 – Hakoah Sydney City East
1 at Sydney United Sports Centre
Sydney United 58 continued their dominance
over the PlayStation®4 National Premier
Leagues NSW Men’s competition with a 4-1
victory over Hakoah Sydney City East at Sydney
United Sports Centre.
Chris Payne and Panni Nikas were the chief
destroyers with the former scoring a fantastic
hat trick before Hakoah substitute Adrian
De Jong struck back. Nikas responded within
a minute to give United 58 their three-goal
cushion again.
The match will be remembered for an exquisite
goal by Payne who combined with Nikas on the
edge of the box to score a goal that had the
United 58 faithful left in awe.
Sydney United 58 hold top spot at the
completion of Round 11 with 28 points.
Competition new boys Hakoah finish the week
in eighth spot with 12 points.

A spirited 10-man Blacktown City has overcame
Manly United 2-1 in an thrilling PlayStation®4
National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash at
Lily’s Football Centre on Sunday.
Second half goals to Danny Choi and Travis
Major allowed the home side to fight back
after Sam Gallagher provided Manly with a one
goal advantage 90 seconds after the opening
whistle.
The fight back was all the more impressive
considering the send off of fullback Giorgio
Speranza who was dismissed by referee Kate
Jaciewicz after receiving a second yellow card
in the 42nd minute.
Despite the loss, Manly United will by buoyed
by the performance of new recruit Richie
Cardozo who returns to the PlayStation®4
National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s
completion in a rich vein of form.
Blacktown City remain in second place on
the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues
NSW Men’s competition ladder only one point
behind Sydney United 58 on 28 points.
Manly sit in fourth spot with 16 points.

HOME FIXTURES 2016
TRADITIONS ALIVE AND WELL AT SYDNEY UNITED 58 FC
No matter their name or the level they have played
that, Sydney United 58 FC have always remained
true to their heritage.
Playing in the PlayStation®4 National Premier
Leagues NSW Men’s competition under the guise
of former junior, captain and Socceroo Mark
Rudan the markers of this club’s great history are
everywhere.
Tony Krslovic is another important part of the club’s
illustrious history who continues to give back to the
club he supported and played for at the highest
level.
“I have supported this club for more than 40 years,”
Krslovic said.
“I remember going to games when we were called
Sydney Croatia and we were playing in the old New
South Wales state leagues, going to places like the
City Sports Ground and supporting the team.
“We were a very successful club in the 1970s. I
remember grand finals, Wentworth Park and seeing
the team play in front of crowds of 15-20,000.
“It was my dream to play for them, as it was for
most kids of Croatian heritage.”
And play for United 58 FC he did.
But by the time he made his debut as a spritely
17-year-old, Sydney United 58 FC were playing in
the old National Soccer League.
“I think it was 1987 that I made my debut. I
remember the first game I played and it was against
Adelaide City.
“It was a tough game, but I remember getting to
school at 2pm the next day.
“It was pretty good. There were a few boys at
schooled that played football. We had the Okon
brothers with me at school so there was a bit of
rivalry but it was a fantastic time.”
Krslovic would play with some extraordinary players
in his time in the NSL.

“At one stage we had five or six internationals,”
Krslovic – a former Socceroos himself – said.
“Graham Arnold, Robbie Slater, Graham Jennings
and Wally Savor…they were fantastic players.
“Then we had the boys like Tony [Popovic] come
through who were a few years younger than me.
“Zeljko Kalac, Mark Bosnich, David Zdrilic – it was a
strong time for the club.”
Youth has always been a cornerstone of the club’s
tradition, and Krslovic continues to contribute
to that in a coaching capacity as the club’s
PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW
Men’s Under 15 coach.
But he is happy to see that carried through across
all levels of the club, particularly with Rudan
coaching the seniors.
“It’s great to have him here as a coach, given he’s a
former junior and captain,” Krslovic said.
“His history and ties to the club means he can
continue to pass on the Sydney United 58 FC
tradition to the next generation.”
