for rainbows. The owners are trusting and<br />
have even run an honesty box while not at<br />
the fishery. Located at Tullich, nr Ballater,<br />

attractive surroundings, where anglers enjoy<br />

RELEASE only Haddo, near Methlick,<br />
Aberdeenshire is one of north-east Scotland’s<br />
finest small waters. Prolific fly life, 5 acres with<br />
5ft average depth. Browns, rainbows and blues<br />
from 1- 2lb with some 3-5lb, and larger. Boat<br />
only for up to 10 anglers – 19ft Leven wooden<br />
clinkers with two anchors, landing nets, seats<br />
and life-jackets. Open Fridays, and weekends.<br />
Free tea and coffee, tackle for sale or hire.<br />

water offers low-priced sport from bank<br />
only. At 900 acres, there’s plenty of areas<br />
from which to cast and move with traditional<br />
patterns – wading not advised. Fish are wild<br />
with some stocking and tickets are from the<br />
famous Jamaica Inn nearby. Grown-on fish to<br />
2lb regularly caught with occasional fish to 5lb.<br />
