NUDE: Is acting something you always wanted to pursue?
Michael: I've always been inclined to create and perform. I started with singing, and
acting presented itself later as a way to tell stories. I now look at them as symbiotic and I
can't separate them.
NUDE: What’s something not everyone knows about you?
Michael: They might not know that I come from an artistic family and I prefer not to limit
myself to one creative medium. I have always used art as a way to speak my mind and
express my inner world.
NUDE: We heard you also have an EP out and there is more to come. Can you tell us about
that?
Michael: I've created a concept album that will be released in three "phases" as a way to
experience the journey of my personal evolution through music. It begins with
rambunctious youth and potentially dangerous behavior in Regeneration: Phase I (available
now). It ends with complete enlightenment and "Clarity" in Regeneration: Phase III. Each
track has a diferent vibe, sound and narrative to document the changes in the continuum
of the human experience.
NUDE: Do you ever watch shows or movies that you’re in?
Michael: I do, but only in the beginning, when the project is first released. I don't find
myself re-watching past projects very oten. This industry is constantly reminding us to
think about "what's next?" I can't help but be focused on that.
NUDE: How do you prepare for the role of a character?
Michael: While learning and memorizing lines is essential to playing any character, I have
found it most efective to convince the viewer by embodying certain authentic qualities
the character would possess and working within that mindset. I used to get upset about
saying a line incorrectly, but then realized no casting agent is looking for a "memorizer" or
a “reciter." They want to believe you are the person you're pretending to be. I'd like to
believe I've done that.
NUDE: If you wanted people to know you by only one thing, what would it be?
Michael: That I was an artist, that I existed and my compulsion to create changed the
world in some way.
