Government<br />

94.C Duties <strong>of</strong> Conservator <strong>of</strong> Forests Utilisation Circle In addition to provisions <strong>of</strong> Art.<br />

94-A, in so far as applicable, the following will be the functions and duties <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Conservator <strong>of</strong> Forests, Utilisation Circle.<br />

(I) To organise collection <strong>of</strong> data regarding present availability <strong>of</strong> the various forest produce.<br />

(2) To assess the present actual and potential availability <strong>of</strong> secondary, species and such<br />

forest produce, which is not being utilised by the industries at present and their costs, their<br />

cost <strong>of</strong> extraction and transport to the different markets<br />

(3) To assess the present requirement <strong>of</strong> raw material <strong>of</strong> the existing forest based industries in<br />

the State.<br />

(4) To encourage and assist the entrepreneurs in setting up new units based on the secondary<br />

species and other available raw material hither to not being utilised by the existing units. .<br />

(5) To act as secretary, screening Committee for allotment <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>t wood.<br />

(6) To coordinate and organise supplies <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>t wood made to various forest industries.<br />

(7) To hold administrative control <strong>of</strong> the Forest Utilisation Division.<br />

(8) Attending to correspondence about forest industry.<br />

(10) To procure Data on the availability, marketing potential, market, and export possibilities<br />

<strong>of</strong> various minor forest produce, including medicinal herbs occurring in the state.<br />

(11) To prepare projects and plans for the maximum and best utilization <strong>of</strong> important items <strong>of</strong><br />

minor forest. produce like oleo-gums( resins), tendu leaves, katha, bamboo, canes, aromatic<br />

grasses, essential oils, oil seeds, tanning material, gums edible forest products, honey etc.<br />

(12) To maintain close liaison with the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun to Keep abreast <strong>of</strong><br />

the latest research and development made in the field <strong>of</strong> Forest Utilisation.<br />

(13) Any other work as may be assigned to him by the P.C.C.F., U.P.<br />

94.D. Duties <strong>of</strong> Conservator <strong>of</strong> Forests Extension and Public Relation Circle In addition to<br />

provisions <strong>of</strong> Art. 94-A so far as applicable, the Conservator <strong>of</strong> Forests, Extension and public<br />

Relations Circle shall perform the following duties.<br />
