94.C Duties of Conservator of Forests Utilisation Circle In addition to provisions of Art.
94-A, in so far as applicable, the following will be the functions and duties of the
Conservator of Forests, Utilisation Circle.
(I) To organise collection of data regarding present availability of the various forest produce.
(2) To assess the present actual and potential availability of secondary, species and such
forest produce, which is not being utilised by the industries at present and their costs, their
cost of extraction and transport to the different markets
(3) To assess the present requirement of raw material of the existing forest based industries in
the State.
(4) To encourage and assist the entrepreneurs in setting up new units based on the secondary
species and other available raw material hither to not being utilised by the existing units. .
(5) To act as secretary, screening Committee for allotment of soft wood.
(6) To coordinate and organise supplies of soft wood made to various forest industries.
(7) To hold administrative control of the Forest Utilisation Division.
(8) Attending to correspondence about forest industry.
(10) To procure Data on the availability, marketing potential, market, and export possibilities
of various minor forest produce, including medicinal herbs occurring in the state.
(11) To prepare projects and plans for the maximum and best utilization of important items of
minor forest. produce like oleo-gums( resins), tendu leaves, katha, bamboo, canes, aromatic
grasses, essential oils, oil seeds, tanning material, gums edible forest products, honey etc.
(12) To maintain close liaison with the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun to Keep abreast of
the latest research and development made in the field of Forest Utilisation.
(13) Any other work as may be assigned to him by the P.C.C.F., U.P.
94.D. Duties of Conservator of Forests Extension and Public Relation Circle In addition to
provisions of Art. 94-A so far as applicable, the Conservator of Forests, Extension and public
Relations Circle shall perform the following duties.
