Barristers get in a spin for Charity
Barristers and staff cycled
over 1,000 miles – on
stationary bikes
Raised over £4,500 for
Headway, the charity that
aims to improve life after
brain injury
12-hour event took
place at ProSpin in Ashley
on 27 April.
A team of barristers from St
John’s Buildings rode
through Europe – on stationary
“spin” bikes. Their
aim was to cycle as far as
possible in 12 hours, with
only comfort breaks allowed.
They set off at 6am
and by 6pm their combined
distance was 1036 miles. If
they had been out on the
road, they’d have passed
Zurich and Milan and be
heading towards Rome!
deep on the night for
local children’s cancer research.
We are just about to
open the application
process for this year’s research
help to fund vital research
over the coming two years.”
Sarah Amatiello, President
of the Trafford Law Society,
added: “This year’s Trafford
Law Society Ball was a great
success and even better
that we could use the occasion
to raise money for such
a worthy cause. Our thanks
go to our members who attended
and contributed on
the night.”
The team included Head of
