“We couldn’t be based in a better place”
No company takes fit as seriously as we do. We
turned our hands-on experiences into reality when
we created the first ever Anatom Last. That was
some years ago and we continue to invest in and
fine tune the fit of our footwear. We also continue
to train our retail partners on how to achieve
excellent standards of fit. If you’d like to know more
about these training courses please ask.
The other day we had a really nice email from one
of our customers, which said “I had a customer in
on Saturday who wanted to buy boots. I let him try
a pair of Anatom boots. After wandering around
for a bit, he looked at me and said “for that out of
the box feel, these are without question THE most
comfortable boots I have ever tried on.”
Needless to say he bought them.”
I am pleased to say these comments are not
unusual. We hear them every day and we get
lots of emails from Anatom fans who are trying
our footwear for the first time and are really
enthusiastic about the experience they are having
wearing a well-made pair of boots or shoes
designed and tested right here in Scotland. Our
landscapes are awe inspiring and our weather
sometimes about as miserable as it can be almost
anywhere on the planet. It tests the materials
and membranes we use to the limit. Our majestic
mountains are largely made from what seems
to be a particularly sharp type of granite in solid
or granular form. This again proves a great test
surface for our Vibram outsoles, rubber rands and
thick leathers. We couldn’t be based in a better
place.

Rannoch Extreme Boot
Designed and tested in Scotland
Like the Rannoch Moor itself where the weather is often
extreme and the demanding landscape consists of peat bogs,
coarse heather and sharp granite rocks. This boot is designed
with comfort and performance in mind for those long days out
on the hill.
Under the bonnet the Rannoch Extreme is fitted with a threelayer
waterproof/breathable membrane. The outer material is
the most robust 3mm rough-cut leather that can cope with the
most extreme conditions.
This premium silicone infused, rough-out leather is produced
for us by a family owned tannery in Italy. This tannery has
been producing leather in the Sud Tyrol region of Italy since
1780 and tans their hides with a special process to make them
extremely water repellent while still remaining breathable.
This is the most durable leather available on the market and is
made from the corium, the strongest part of the hide.
The Rannoch Extreme Boot is the result of many months of
testing in the Scottish conditions and the extensive bootmaking
knowledge of Anatom. Tough, rough-cut 3mm silicone
infused leather delivers a system to take on the arduous
weather and landscapes of Scotland. A complete rubber rand
guards against jagged rocks and heather.
The Triple-zone lacing system hugs your instep and heel,
eliminating slippage without pinching or binding. A Low-Toe
Lace System provides a secure fit. A Hydro-breathable opencell
mesh lining allows optimum breathability and membrane
performance for dry comfort. A Removable memory-foam
footbed for luxurious comfort. EVA midsoles provide
cushioning for the feet and absorb shock.
A softie leather flexible cuff above the ankles provide support
and movement as you cross uneven ground. Vibram® Foura
mountaineering outsoles grip the ground really well.

Cuillin High Trekking Boot
Made with a full rubber rand and finest quality
leather, Anatom’s Cuillin mountain boot will
withstand frequent use and abuse and provides
excellent ankle support for tricky and technical
terrain.

A Vibram® Foura outsole grips wet, rocky, and unpredictable
conditions. The Impact brake system in the heel supports your
foot and improves control while descending steep trails with
a heavy pack. The PU midsole provides cushioning for shock
absorption and all-day comfort. The Anatom Cuillin mountain
boot is designed for 4-season trekking and winter walking. For
support, the calibrated midsole allows for the right flex and
torsional support to protect against buckling for confidence
and excellent feel.
B1 refers to flexible mountain walking boots that will fit C1 or flexible crampons.

It is designed to be a light hiking boot at home in the

The tri.aria system is a holistic approach to sustainable comfort. It is the core of our footwear philosophy.
Tri.aria is the amalgamation of three key components: Waterproofness, Breathability and Care.

Calibrated Midsoles
The midsole is a crucial determining factor in the differentiation in performance of footwear designed for
use on rugged terrain. The three key areas are:
Underfoot Protection
This is an essential element of high quality hiking
footwear to prevent stones causing bruising and
unnecessary fatigue to the foot.
Torsional Rigidity
Our calibrated midsole supports the foot during
its adaptive phases, ensuring our footwear flexes
the right amount for stability whilst crossing
slopes or tricky terrain.

Forefoot Flex
As well as ensuring stability and security on uneven
ground and whilst crossing slopes our calibrated
midsole will also enhance efficiency and reduce
fatigue by allowing the right level of forefoot flex.
Each of these features needs to be calibrated to the
size of the foot so the smallest sizes in the same
way as the largest size.
