CARDIOLOGY
In the internal medicine department II we treat
patients with heart and vascular diseases.
In the emergency room patients will already be
examined and treated (including a plan for further
treatments). If necessary, imagine techniques like
ultrasound and catscan will be used. Further treatment
will take place at the internal medical ward II
(also intensive care if necessary).
To clarify arrhythmia we use telemetrically or longterm-ECG-control.
Atriumarrhythmia could get
treated with medications or through electrical
cardioversion. If you suffer from arrhythmia our
hospital can put in a cardiac pacemaker.
Cardiac insufficiency inclusive loss of efficiency will
be differentiated with special laboratory work and
heart ultrasound. If you have pain in your chest we
will clarify it with ECG, X-rays, exercise ECG and cardio
catscan. In cooperation with the cardiology at
the clinic in Amberg we will transfer patients with
profoundly contraction of the coronary vessels
directly to the cardiac cathererization laboratory.
After we succeed the therapy we will take care that
the patient will get a therapyplan and/or a doctor‘s
letter before leaving the hospital. If necessary, we
will contact the general practitioner, the socialwork
center or eventually the rehabilitation center.

doctor team includes the medical director of cardiology,
an assistant medical director with special know-
ledge of emergency and intensive care and right now
five medical residents, who will get a wide range of
training in our hospital. In our functionary office we
have very well trained medical assistants.
On the wards you will find highly motivated nurses.
