training in contemporary dance, Västra nylands folkhögskolan, Karis, Finland
Matti is a passionate, expressive and full performer with a powerful
physicality, strong stage presence and a love for experimentation. He is
interested in both performance and creation and is constantly trying to
explore dance further through both approaches. Matti made a site specific
work in his home town Kouvola, Finland in collaboration with his peers and
photographer Raakel Kuukka. The project was fully funded by the Finnish
Cultural Foundation and was performed twice in an art gallery in January
2015. In August, Matti will join Tanzmainz, the contemporary dance company
of Staatstheater Mainz in Germany as a dancer.
