The Rite of Spring
(Pictures of Pagan Russia in Two Parts)
Ben is Artistic Director and co-founder of Lost Dog. He trained at Guildford
School of Acting, London Contemporary Dance School and has a first class
degree in English Literature from Newcastle University. His work explores
the overlap and transition between Dance and Theatre.
Lost Dog’s most recent work Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me) won
the National Dance Award for Outstanding Male Performance and has been
nominated for a Sky Arts South Bank award. In 2011, Lost Dog won The Place
Prize for Dance sponsored by Bloomberg with their duet It Needs Horses.
Not that awards are all that matter... there have been works that haven’t
won any awards that Ben is still very proud of (and some that he isn’t).
Ben has also created work for Barely Methodical Troupe, Scottish Dance
Theatre, Dance Umbrella and Phoenix Dance Theatre. Ben is a Work
Place artist.
