We got N345m for IDPs — SHETTIMA<br />

Shettima of Bor<strong>no</strong> State,<br />
yesterday declared that<br />
his adm<strong>in</strong>istration<br />
received only N345<br />
million cash as<br />
donations from outside<br />
<strong>in</strong>terests contrary to<br />
allegations of a w<strong>in</strong>dfall<br />
of billions supposedly<br />
channelled to help<br />
victims of the Boko<br />
Haram <strong>in</strong>surgency.<br />
The gover<strong>no</strong>r, who<br />
spoke to reporters on<br />
arrival from Abuja, said<br />
the adm<strong>in</strong>istration s<strong>in</strong>ce<br />
its advent also received<br />
assistance <strong>in</strong> several<br />
forms <strong>in</strong> k<strong>in</strong>d from other<br />
state governments and<br />
agencies <strong>in</strong> the country.<br />
“You see, contrary to<br />
wild assumptions that the<br />
Bor<strong>no</strong> State Government<br />
has received billions of<br />
cash donations <strong>in</strong> local<br />
and foreign currencies for<br />
the management of<br />
Internally Displaced<br />
Persons, IDPs, a lot of<br />
Nigerians may be<br />
shocked to k<strong>no</strong>w that a<br />
total of three hundred<br />
and forty five million<br />
naira (N345m) is the<br />
overall amount received<br />
as cash donation by<br />
our adm<strong>in</strong>istration<br />
from May, 2011 to<br />
date.<br />

He said the N345<br />
million donation was <strong>in</strong><br />
the face of the N600<br />
million spent every<br />
month to cater for IDP’s<br />
throughout the<br />
Jonathan era.<br />
He also listed other<br />
<strong>in</strong>terventions to<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude Kebbi State<br />
Government, 1,200<br />
bags of rice; Ebonyi<br />
State Government gave<br />
us 5,000 bags of rice;<br />
Taraba gave us three<br />
trucks of highland tea<br />
and Gombe which<br />

ABUJA—PRESIDENT Muhammadu<br />
Buhari has said he will be fair to all<br />
sections and tribes of Nigeria, assur<strong>in</strong>g that<br />
he will never marg<strong>in</strong>alize anyone.<br />
The President gave the assurance at the<br />
palace of the Emir of Daura, Dr. Farouk Umar<br />
Farouk, dur<strong>in</strong>g the break<strong>in</strong>g of Ramadan fast.<br />
Speak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Hausa language, the President<br />
said that under his watch, <strong>no</strong> section of the<br />
country would either be discrim<strong>in</strong>ated aga<strong>in</strong>st<br />
or marg<strong>in</strong>alized, urg<strong>in</strong>g the people to cont<strong>in</strong>ue<br />
to pray for the unity of the country.<br />
The President was accompanied by Gover<strong>no</strong>rs<br />
Am<strong>in</strong>u Bello Masari and AbdulAziz Yari of<br />
Kats<strong>in</strong>a and Zamfara states respectively.<br />
The event also attracted the Deputy Gover<strong>no</strong>r,<br />
the SSG and speaker of Kats<strong>in</strong>a State Assembly<br />
and many traditional title holders.<br />
It featured special prayers for peace, unity, stability<br />
and susta<strong>in</strong>able development of the country.<br />

Jang blasts Lalong over graz<strong>in</strong>g reserves policy<br />

Jonah Jang, has described the graz<strong>in</strong>g<br />
reserves/ranch<strong>in</strong>g policy of Gover<strong>no</strong>r<br />
Simon Lalong as an attempt to sell off the<br />
birthright of the people of Plateau State.<br />
Accord<strong>in</strong>g to a statement issued yesterday<br />
by the Senator Jang through his aide,<br />
Cl<strong>in</strong>ton Garuba, he said: “The attention of<br />
the Senator represent<strong>in</strong>g Plateau North <strong>in</strong><br />
the National Assembly, Senator Jonah<br />
Jang has been drawn to remarks made by<br />
the Plateau State Gover<strong>no</strong>r, Barr. Simon<br />
Lalong to the effect that he (Sen. Jang)<br />
was responsible for the protests that<br />
greeted the APC Government’s policy on<br />
graz<strong>in</strong>g reserve, ranch<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
The fact that we have to struggle with a<br />
