Wildact Adventure
We, Simone Mendelin and Jürg Eugster, are the founders of Wildact Adventure. Born and raised
in Switzerland, we completed our education in Zurich, where we spent several years working in
our learnt professions; Simone as a tailor and Jürg as a construction engineer. During a half-year
stay on a husky farm in Finland, Jürg discovered his love and fascination for sled dogs and the
Nordic winter. When he returned to Switzerland, his enchantment with Nordic life also captured
the imagination of Simone. Together, we decided to start raising sled dogs, and changed our lives
to suit our newly found passion.
We bought our first Alaskan huskies after finding a new home in the Swiss countryside. In 2007, we
were ready to make our dream a reality: it was time to open our own Husky farm in Sweden. Today,
our family business has expanded to two beautiful children and 60 Alaskan huskies. Living with the
dogs and working amongst nature have enriched our lives to the fullest. Seeing our Alaskan huskies’
joy for running never ceases to impress our family. Every day we get to enjoy the beauty of Northern
nature and its solitude – in bright summer nights as well as in snowy winters.

Lapland is a region that stretches across the four countries
of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Russia. It is considered
the last remaining wilderness area in Europe. Once upon
a time, the indigenous Sami people travelled across these
lands as nomads, along with their reindeer herds. Throughout
the course of history they endured and suffered the
reign of foreign governments, wars and oppression. Despite
these hardships, the indigenous people have maintained
their traditions, religion and extraordinary language. The
culture of the Sami people – the only indigenous population
in Europe – lives on and evolves.

Wild Bed & Breakfast
We feature three comfortable double rooms for our guests, decorated in a typical
Swedish style. The fully furnished rooms all include a private bathroom with a
shower and toilet. We will happily arrange a complimentary pick-up and dropoff
service to and from Arvidsjaur on the day of your arrival/departure.
Our Bed & Breakfast is located at the foot of the Vittjåkk-Akkanålke nature
reserve, which you are welcome to explore on your own. The cozy Stuga acts as a
common room, featuring a seating area with a fireplace as well as a small library.
Complete with a view onto the mountains and lakes of Lapland, it’s the perfect
place to let your spirits flow.
You can rent canoes, packrafts and bicycles on site. You can also book different
activities such as guided huskytrekking, packrafting and hiking tours, or introductory
courses into outdoor cooking and wood carving.

Breakfast and more
A good breakfast is the perfect start to a long summer day
in Lapland. You will find an extensive buffet complete with
homemade specialties and local treats when you wake
up in the morning. Be it buns, crackers or breads, in our
house, we bake everything ourselves. Alongside we serve
homemade jam and local reindeer or moose meat.
You may also request to receive lunch and dinner. We also
offer cake and pastries, such as homemade cinnamon rolls,
at coffee time.
Local venison
The moose is the king of the Lapland forest. They can
weigh up to 550 kg and are an important source of meat
for the region. The meat has a light taste and is often sold
frozen.
Reindeers are half domesticated animals. Every reindeer
you encounter in Lapland belongs to a Sami tribe. In autumn,
the meat is smoked, dried or frozen for preservation.
It can then be consumed throughout the whole year.
Berries of Lapland
Cloudberries, blueberries, lingonberries, cranberries,
crowberries … the list of regional berries and their diverse
flavors goes on and on. The different kinds of berries are
a big part of our local cuisine. The yellow-orange colored
cloudberry, for example, is full of Vitamin C – 75 g is
enough to supplement a person’s daily need. The berries
can be gathered from late summer until early winter.
Cranberries and lingonberries develop a particularly rich
taste when they have been frozen for a couple of days.

Summertime in the land of the midnight sun
Bright in the night as if it was day – this makes summer in Lapland especially magical. Because there is no springtime
in the high North, summertime begins as soon as the last snow patches have melted away. As the ice upon the lakes and
rivers disappears and the sounds of rushing waters return, nature announces the arrival of a new season. As soon as the
ground has dried, buds begin to sprout upon the birch trees and the grass begins to grow. Bit by bit, the Plantae kingdom
awakens and the grass blooms with colorful flowers.

2–3 day hiking tours through wilderness from 2.630 SEK/person
By hiking along hidden paths through magical forests on our 2-day tour,
one discovers the diverse nature of the high North. We spend the night in
a quaint hut along the lake “Stenträsket”. This tour is perfect for hiking
beginners as well as experienced hikers looking for relaxation.
The 3-day tour is perfect for real wilderness enthusiasts. We hike along
narrow paths through boreal forests and along lakes and swamps. We
spend the nights in solitary huts in the middle of the wild.
Wild kitchen – cooking upon open fire

For centuries, nature has supplied the human race with its basic needs, in
particular, of course, with food. We embark on a journey to discover the
most primary sources of food. Together we prepare a variety of meals by
simple methods upon the open fire (such as fish, meat, vegetables, baked
goods).
Moreover, you learn about different kinds of wild herbs. On an e xpedition
through Lapland’s nature we look for suitable wild herbs to complement
our menu.
Huskytrekking

Experience our dogs’ energy even during summertime! Together with
our lovely Alaskan huskies and our multilingual dog guide (German,
English, Swedish) you hike to a nearby viewpoint. Here you can take
in the breathtaking landscapes of Lapland. Then, we enjoy a long break
around a campfire, upon which we grill reindeer meat to energize us for
our return journey. After that, we hike back to the husky farm.

Carve your own souvenir
from 465 SEK/person
Carve your own spoon, fork or even your own cup. Be it a handy trekking
tool or a piece of art, we will show you how to make it! You will
learn the basic knowledge needed for carving and how to handle wood.
We provide you with the appropriate tools so that you can eat your soup
with a self-made spoon on your next hiking trip.
2-day individual canoe tour

Experience pure nature and envelop yourself in the silence and solitude
of Lapland. Your journey begins right on our doorstep, from which
you will begin your 2-day exploration of the extensive system of lakes
and rivers by canoe. Look out for moose, reindeers and beavers, whose
homes you are discovering and with which encounters are not out of
the ordinary.

Combined hiking and paddling tours
The packraft. A packraft is an inflatable paddleboat that
is easily transportable. It weighs about 3 kg when packed
up, and is about the size of a rolled up sleeping bag. When
inflated, there is enough room to sit comfortably and store
your backpack and bicycle. The packraft, despite its light
weight, is robust enough to withstand occasional rapid
waters.
At the end of your paddling tour, you can deflate the packraft,
pack it together and stow it in your backpack or on
your bike. You can now reach your next destination with
ease and comfort. Packrafting is suitable for experienced
hikers and paddlers as well as for beginners.
There are many advantages to the packraft. Potential obstacles
and rapid rivers can be easily avoided, so it’s possible
to go paddling in all types of waters. Hiking, paddling and
biking are therefore easily combined.
Our packrafts are waiting for you! We warmly invite you

HIKING ALONG
THE POLAR CIRCLE
Fjäll tours in Swedish Lapland
Join us for a six-day hike along the polar circle in Swedish
Lapland. Our journey starts close to the border to Norway,
in the middle of the wilderness. From there we follow the
solitary paths through the breathtaking landscapes of the treeless
Kahlfjälls, along crystal clear mountain lakes and through
magical birch forests. Surefootedness and good physical health
are required for this tour. You will be carrying your own food
and water for the six-day journey, and will sleep in comfortable
mountain huts featuring beds and cooking supplies.
Food will consist of preserved meals suitable for hiking and
local specialties.
Beginners as well as experienced hikers will get their money’s
worth on this trip. The distance walked daily lies between 14
and 20 km. Sleeping in the mountain huts saves us the hassle
of having to carry tents. During our stay at base camp we will
be able to leave our supplies and sleeping bags in the huts
and hike with lightly packed backpacks. The planned route
mostly leads us along narrow mountain paths and sometimes
through pathless terrain.
Groups are made up of a maximum of four participants, in
order to ensure individualized care by our guide.

snow, the trees enveloped in an icy glow. The sun gazes over
