WHAT WILL I LEARN?<br />
Auto Body Technology is<br />
designed to qualify students<br />
for positions in the repairing,<br />
rebuilding, and refinishing of<br />
vehicles damaged in collisions<br />
and other accidents.These<br />
specialized skills are offered<br />
through both a two-year<br />
associate degree program and<br />
multiple one-year certificate<br />
programs.<br />
Students will develop skills in<br />
the use of body shop tools,<br />
equipment and materials, as<br />
well as in frame alignment, body<br />
alignment and glass replacement.<br />
Instruction is also offered in<br />
removing dents from fenders and<br />
body panels, welding torn metal,<br />
replacing badly damaged parts<br />
and body painting.<br />
We even have a Custom Auto/<br />
Street Rod Fabrication certificate<br />
track for individuals who want<br />
to explore the basic techniques<br />
needed to design, modify and<br />
build street rods or custom<br />
automobiles.<br />
The overall program includes<br />
developmental knowledge in<br />
bookkeeping, estimating, and<br />
repair orders. Eastfield College’s<br />
modern auto body laboratory<br />
is equipped with the finest auto<br />
repair equipment.<br />
Skilled auto body repairers and<br />
refinishers can have careers with<br />
automobile repair shops, trucking<br />
companies and bus lines, or<br />
working for federal, state or local<br />
governments.<br />
