through both a two-year<br />
associate degree program and<br />
multiple one-year certificate<br />

Students will develop skills in<br />
the use of body shop tools,<br />
equipment and materials, as<br />
well as in frame alignment, body<br />
alignment and glass replacement.<br />
Instruction is also offered in<br />
removing dents from fenders and<br />
body panels, welding torn metal,<br />
replacing badly damaged parts<br />

track for individuals who want<br />
to explore the basic techniques<br />

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for<br />
entry-level employment as automotive technicians. It is<br />
expected that students will enter the automotive industry<br />
workforce.<br />
This program reflects a building-block approach from simple<br />
to complex and includes theory, diagnosis, repair and<br />
maintenance of automobiles, including late model vehicles<br />
with electronic systems. Emphasis is placed on operational<br />
theory, practical skills and accepted shop procedures.<br />

Partnership to provide exemplary training for students<br />
desiring to enter the automotive industry as an Audi<br />
Technician.<br />
HIGH-PERFORMANCE MODIFICATION<br />
Eastfield’s High-Performance Modification program takes<br />
students to the next level, presenting theory and hands-on<br />
experience with an emphasis on engine tuning and highperformance<br />

Two Similar, Yet Different Degrees<br />
The Business Administration and Management<br />
degree plans share some of the same course<br />
requirements, but differ in key aspects:<br />
Business Administration focuses on a diverse<br />
curriculum by requiring business law, marketing<br />
and additional accounting and economics<br />
coursework—above and beyond the business<br />
and management courses. The intent is for<br />
students to develop a wide range of knowledge<br />
that would be used in entrepreneurial ventures,<br />
small business development and<br />
corporate-level careers.<br />
Management focuses on supervising,<br />
human resources, and decision making with an<br />
additional concentration on job-related growth<br />
and development including up to 12 college<br />
credits for job-related learning; that is, applying<br />
the skills you learn in your current work setting<br />
(must be working). The intent is to develop<br />
management skills that lead to employment,<br />
job enrichment, and upward mobility in<br />

COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN?<br />
The CAD department offers a twoyear<br />
associate degree and multiple<br />
certificates. A flexible curriculum<br />
allows students to specialize in many<br />
different types of computer-aided<br />
design. The laboratories contain PC and<br />
Sun workstations, along with printers,<br />
plotters and overhead teaching devices.<br />
Laboratory computers contain the latest<br />
releases of AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit,<br />
AutoDesk Inventor, Solidworks, and<br />
other CAD software.<br />
On-line courses leading to certificates<br />
and degrees are also offered.<br />
What is CNC machining?<br />
Computer numerical control (CNC) machining is used in both<br />
metal and plastic parts manufacturing to control various<br />
tools—lathes, mills, grinders and routers.<br />
Eastfield College maintains both CNC and manual machining<br />
labs for students to become proficient in the programming,<br />
setup and operation of CNC equipment as it is practiced by<br />
industry professionals.<br />

Welding is both a technical skill and a creative art with many<br />
different applications. Eastfield College’s program can help<br />
you train for all aspects of welding. The three certificates are<br />
designed to provide opportunities for students to develop skills<br />

The Eastfield College Criminal Justice Training Center provides various training in the field of law enforcement.<br />
These programs range from complete entry-level training for the law enforcement profession to skills upgrade<br />
training for the veteran police officer. Our TCOLE Certified Police Academy is highly ranked throughout the<br />
State of Texas with a first time state pass rate of 97% on the State licensing exam. We are one of the few Police<br />
Academies in North Texas that accept students not sponsored by a law enforcement agency.<br />

Patient Care Technician<br />
In this 198 hour program, students learn how to<br />
work under the supervision of medical staff to<br />
provide patient care in a variety of settings. P<strong>CT</strong>’s<br />
assist patients with many tasks they cannot do<br />
for themselves as well as checking and recording<br />
vital signs, weight, and height. Did you know that<br />
earning the CNA, Phlebotomy, and EKG Certificates<br />
all equal the Patient Care Technician certificate? It<br />
does! Stack these three and get one for free.<br />

Medical Billing & Coding<br />
Students complete 288 hours of course work and<br />
become skilled in classifying medical data from<br />
patient records. This program can be completed<br />
in less than seven months.<br />

A comprehensive program that covers 100 hours of basic<br />
CNA skills and knowledge needed to help patients of all<br />
ages, this program certifies students as a nurse assistant<br />

Phlebotomy<br />
Composed of 168 hours of classroom training and clinical,<br />
this 11 week program will certify students to safely collect<br />
and handle blood specimens from a variety of patients.<br />

This 50 hour program covers the fundamentals of<br />
cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, certifying students in<br />
EKG. Courses include basic electrocardiography procedures,<br />

The Teacher Assistant Preparation program is designed to train,<br />
prepare and mentor teacher assistant candidates to<br />
meet educational standards for entering employment in local<br />
school districts.<br />
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:<br />
• Understand the importance of assisting the classroom teacher<br />
to provide high quality instruction.<br />
• Recognize and assist in addressing the assessed educational<br />
strengths and needs faced by diverse student populations.<br />
