Listening to Local Voices on Mental health
9
Methodology
To establish the evidence base,
Healthwatch Enfield adopted a
qualitative approach to data
collection and grounded theory
analysis engaging with more than
220 people. Throughout 2014 and
2015 we sought the views of mental
health service users and carers on
their experiences of the support and
services available; we also collected
feedback from staff working to provide
mental health care.
We collected comments and feedback
from local people with experiences of:
1. acute and tertiary care services
2. secondary services,
3. community support
through:
1. focus groups and
engagement events
2. online and print media
including surveys and
“Tell us your story” cards
3. indirect contact over the phone,
via e-mail or post
4. Enter and View visits to mental
health services
