Brief history of DA
1914 Lancs, Cheshire and North Wales DA
(incorporating Liverpool) was formed to replace
Manchester DA – (which was formed in 1911 and
dissolved in 1914)
1921 Liverpool DA was formed
1956 Liverpool joined with North Wales DA so
our DA changed its name to Lancs and Ches DA
1973 North Wales DA became
independent from Liverpool
2014 Lancs and Ches DA celebrates 100 years

CHAIRMANS PITCH 2016
2015 was a fantastic camping year. Thank you to
everyone involved with stewarding and helping out with
all of our meets. Thank you to all the members from
LCDA and other DAs for attending our meets. The
holiday meets were really well attended this year and
ran very successfully by our THS stewards, special thanks
to them. As a committee it’s not always easy to please
everyone, we can only try to do our best. If anyone
wants us to try things different please tell us as we do
listen to our members, although it is not always possible
to implement some suggestions we always try our best.
Please attend our AGM on 27th Feb to share ideas and
for good discussion. Once again thank you Lancs and
Ches members and committee members for all your
hard work and commitment to our D A during 2015.

Sites Sec 2016
This year we have a wide variety of sites as well as a few new sites and some
sites we haven’t been to in a while, so hopefully something to suit everyone.
If anyone has a personal favourite site or know of new up and coming sites
please feel free to let us know so we all may be able to enjoy the following
season. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported
our meets and to those who have made them possible and stewarded them
and made them a huge success, and for those who put on events whether it be
cheese n wine, cocktail making, or bowling, sausage sizzles etc, an extra big
thank you. Lastly I would like to thank Andy Birchall for all the hard work he has
done over the past few years and to the committee for all of their support. So
here’s to 2016, hope to see you all in the field.

What a great year lays ahead of us. Jam packed fun weekends.
Relaxing weekend. Big social events. We have lots of fun install for all
the family. Starting with Easter. Midsummer meet. DA Fol. Halloween
and Bonfire night. Everyone welcome. Come along and join in the fun.
Every meet is always special. Pull up a chair and make new friends.

Holiday Sites Sec 2016
On behalf of the DA, I would like to thank all the
holiday sites stewards and assistants for all of their hard
work in making the holiday sites a huge success for 2015.
2015 was the first year that we had Pyllau Gloewon Farm
at Tal-y-bont, Conway, for the May bank holiday weekend.
This site was well supported for it’s 1st year and I am
hoping that this site will grow in size, now that the new
Snowdonia Surf Centre is open. This is 2 miles away from
this site, so to all keen surfers I hope you will come and
support us. Our THS at Dafarn Rhos on the Isle of
Anglesey will continue to run at the same times in 2016,
the only difference will be for 2016 the August meet will
open mid-week. This is due to the Lifeboat Day being
brought forward due to the tides. Hollingworth Lake is on
the same time with the DA joining them, for the last
weekend. Bathafarn Hall, Ruthin will be returning back to
August by popular demand. The Illuminations meet will
now be a 5 night meet as well as our Halloween meet.
Easter kicks of the first of the Holiday sites and it will be at
River Laver Caravan Park, Ripon. So here’s to another
fabulous year of camping and I look forward to seeing you
all out and about at one of our THS’s.

DA Rules For Meets
All DA meets are organised in accordance with the
Code of Conduct for the Organisation of Meets
which is printed in full in the Club Handbook, please
familiarise yourself and comply with it's
requirements
It is particularly important to note the following
1. Chemical toilets must only be emptied on site where a
suitable disposal point is available. Toilets must not be
cleaned out at drinking water points.
2. Please do not allow your children to play ball games close to
camping units as damage is easily caused and expensive to
repair.
3. Proof of club membership is to be shown by participating
members when properly demanded by the Steward or
other duly authorised Office of the DA
4. If in any doubt about a meet please contact the site
secretary before setting out.
5. If you are the first member on site, please confirm with the
landowner which field to use and act as Steward until the
official Steward arrives.
6. The Steward is a volunteer. Help the Steward to help you by
observing the rules.

7. Noise should be kept to a minimum and there should
be no noise whatsoever between 11:00 pm and
7:00am,
8. Camp around the edge of the field wherever possible.
If in doubt see Steward before pitching.
9. The minimum wall to wall distance between units
should be 20 feet (6 m)
10. All rubbish should be taken home or placed in
receptacles where provided. Under no circumstances
should rubbish be buried or burned.
11. All animals are to be kept under control and on a lead
no longer than 6 foot. They must not be allowed to
run loose on the field. Animals must be exercised well
away from camping areas. In the event of any mishap
you will be expected to clean up after your animals.
12. The speed limit on site is 5 MPH, at all times.
All members of the Camping and Caravanning Club are
invited to join Lancashire and Cheshire DA at any event or
weekend meet where they can be assured of a friendly
