Self Adhesive Pipe Markers – Pages 252–253
These markers are made of outdoor grade vinyl with an
industrial grade pressure sensitive adhesive for maximum
durability and performance. Complies with Australian
Standard AS 1345-1995.*
Roll Form Pipe Markers – Page 254
An economical roll form pipe marker designed for use in
less demanding applications. Perforated chevron allows
you to indicate the flow of pipes. Complies to Australian
Standard AS 1345-1995.*
Stainless Steel Marking – Page 259–263
Use Stainless Steel marking to mark pipes, hoses, cables
and components alike. Stainless Steel corresponds to
AISI 316. An acid resistant steel containing a minimum of
17% chromium, 11% nickel and 2% molybdenum. The
material has good resistance in salt and wet weather
environments. Good corrosion resistance to acids.

“Identification Of The Contents Of Pipes, Conduits and Ducts”
Why Mark Pipes?
Pipe markers aid in the quick identification of a
pipes’ contents – especially in an emergency
situation. A successful pipe identification
program helps employees, contractors and
emergency responders to distinguish between
pipes where there are several side by side. Pipe
markers also save valuable time when tracing
lines is necessary during maintenance.
Where Should Pipe Markers be Located?
AS 1345 specifies that markers be placed
adjacent to all junctions, valves, service
appliances, bulkhead and wall penetrations.
Markers shall be spaced no more than 8m apart
except for long, uninterrupted straight runs of
external services where spacing shall not
exceed 50m.

Marker Layout – A marker is comprised of a
printed word or words on a coloured

Made from a laminated self-adhesive plastic film, these markers come on
a roll, paper backed and with a perforated chevron/arrow for easy flow
indication. Material is best suited for smooth and clean surfaces. All
colour combinations listed are standard markers and comply to
Australian Standard AS 2700-2011.
Roll form available in a select range (single colour) pipe marker legends
only. Two colour pipe markers will be supplied in packs.

Use Stainless Steel Marking for the identification of cables, hoses, pipes
and components where durability and resistance from the surrounding
environment is essential. The system comprises of carrier plates with
raised bridges (for direct threading of steel cable ties) or punched holes
(for wire, bolts or rivets).

Single Character Marking

characters. Attach these characters to a carrier plate and clamp down
using pliers or similar tool. Carrier plates can be marked using the
individual character marking described or they can be custom made
with high quality stamping that is clearly visible even after it has been
painted over.

Carrier Plates
Carrier plates are offered in five lengths to allow for shorter or longer
legends. They also come with two attachment alternatives: raised
bridges (slots) are designed only for attachment using the stainless steel
cable ties, holes are the alternative where you can attach using wire,
bolts or rivets*.
Means of Attachment
Attach marked carrier plates using either stainless steel cable ties or
wire. They come in three sizes for varying applications and have a
minimum tensile strength of 450N.
Use cable ties only with carrier plates made with raised bridges.
The stainless wire should only be used with carrier plates made with
holes for mounting.
Can be used for Cable Marking.
Step 1
Thread cable tie
through one end of
Carrier Plate and wrap
around pipe.
Step 2
Position the width of
the tie into the Tie
fixing tool. If no tool go
to Step 3.
Crimp characters onto Carrier plate.
