Introducing the Scotty Award.<br />
The Scotty Award is an original oil portrait<br />
commissioned for each of the best recording<br />
artists in the business. It's a work of art as unique<br />
as the honor it represents. And it represents<br />
quite an honor.<br />
Just to qualify, you have to master on Scotch°<br />
Recording Tape and achieve RIAA gold or<br />
platinum status. Even then, only a select few will<br />
be chosen.<br />
But these select few will not be the only ones<br />
who win. A $5000 music scholarship will be<br />
awarded by 3M to a promising new artist chosen<br />
by the Best of Show winner. An additional $1000<br />
will be awarded by 3M to the Muscular<br />
Dystrophy Foundation in the name of each<br />
winning artist. And $100 will be awarded to<br />
Muscular Dystrophy for each qualified nomination.<br />
Who will the first Scotty Award winners Le?<br />
That's up to you. We're now accepting nominations<br />
for recordings that reached gold or platinum<br />
status during 1980.<br />
