Staff Updates
by Duan Walker, Executive Director
Josh Bowdoin joined the staff of Mid-Valley Fellowship in June 2014, assisting
with administrative needs. Very quickly, it became apparent that his skills as a
web designer and programmer made him over-qualified for the job. He did a
great job of making systems more efficient and effective, while challenging
the status quo. He also began designing most of our publications, adding new
elements and styles. The result has been valuable for us as an organization
and a team.
In the fall of last year, his responsibilities shifted to include assisting with the
Erēmos Internship. He invested in our interns through mentoring, helped
shape the program to fit them, and shared the responsibility of our weekly
meetings. His perspective and insight added greatly to the program, and the
interns are better for it.
This summer, Josh will be transitioning away from his staff position with Mid-Valley Fellowship. It is a piece of preparation
for what God has next for him in his journey of ministry. There are many unknowns regarding what that entails for
him, but moving on from his staff position is part of it. For the moment, we get to still be blessed by his service on various
projects and as a volunteer.
We will miss Josh as part of the staff team, and we realize this transition is part of what’s next for Mid-Valley Fellowship
as well. As we honor the work Josh has done at MVF, we get to welcome a “new” staff member too. Jennifer Hutsell will
be increasing her hours starting in June and transition into the roles Josh has fulfilled in the past. If you call or come by
the office, please share your appreciation with Josh and welcome Jennifer to the staff team.
My Next Adventure
by Jennifer Hutsell, Ministry Assistant
I came to Mid-Valley Fellowship initially in the Fall of 2011, seeking support
from someone who would guide me through abuse recovery with my Savior.
Inviting Jesus into my healing process daily, weekly, continuously has been
and continues to be the foundation on which we (Jesus and I) have rebuilt my
life.
As Duan mentioned, I have been given the opportunity to work full-time for
Mid-Valley Fellowship. I am excited to serve with this beautiful ministry that
God has used in my life and in the lives of many, many others so successfully
to teach us how to be and live in healthy relationship with Him and others!
In my expanded role with the ministry, I will be spending about half my time
doing administrative work that helps to keep the ministry running. This is a
role I am comfortable in, and I look forward to learning all the details of what
it takes to administratively support the work God is doing here.
The remainder of my time will be split between two areas. First, I will be focused on the growth of current partner relationships
and fostering new partnerships, which is an area I am super passionate about! I am excited to get to meet
those who have supported the ministry thus far and look forward to seeing who and how God is going to provide to
meet our ongoing and upcoming needs and projects.
Secondly, I will have the opportunity to lead and mentor our next group of Erēmos Ministry Interns. Having gone
through two years of the Erēmos Internship myself, I know full well the benefit, growth, and development that is available
to those who are willing and able to commit to this program for a season. Working with the Lord to develop healthy
leaders in our community that can serve others well, while practicing personal balanced self-care, is another area of this
new position that I am eager and excited to be a part of.
If you have any questions about the ministry, my journey, or have any ideas on how you might partner with us in what
God is doing, please feel free to contact me at the office 541-928-2164 or by email jennifer@midvalleyfellowship.org.
