National Wildlife Refuge are required to have a permit. A total of 50 permits will be awarded via the<br />
lottery system. The lottery is open to any adult. Mail or hand deliver a card (any size) with your<br />
name, email address, mailing address , and phone number to Parker River NWR, 6 Plum Island Tpke,<br />
Newburyport, MA 01950. Entries must be received by August 15. Winning permittees will be notified<br />
by August 17th and permits must be obtained by August 29th. One entry per person. Awarded permits<br />
are nontransferable. Those who are awarded a permit will be able to pick beach plums September 1<br />
through October 31. Cranberries can be picked from October 10 through November 15. Each person<br />
is limited to picking one quart of each species per day. To protect the fragile dune and vernal pool<br />
habitats where these fruits occur, specific areas are designated for these activities. Collecting of any<br />
other fruit or plant material is strictly prohibited on the Refuge. For more information, please stop<br />

PORTSMOUTH - Portsmouth High School alumni of all years who<br />
played in the Portsmouth High School Clipper Band, are gathering<br />
on September 17, 20<strong>16</strong> to socialize, perform and celebrate their<br />
time as a member of this world class organization. Joining us will<br />
be past band directors including: Bill Ewell, Warren Muchemore,<br />
Eric Gagnon, Steve Cirillo and more Activities that day will be<br />
a “Meet and Greet registration” starting at 9 a.m., morning and<br />
afternoon rehearsals and a free concert by alumni band members,<br />
open to the public, at Portsmouth High School starting at 4 p.m.<br />
Finally, starting at 7 p.m. there will be a Reunion Party, held at the<br />
Regatta Room in Eliot, ME. For those that would like to play in<br />
the free concert, rehearsals will be held on the day of performance.<br />
Participation in the concert is not required in order to attend the<br />
reunion. Color guard who would like to participate in the Alumni<br />
color guard drill, “Hail to the Varsity” September<strong>16</strong>th at the<br />
Portsmouth Football game, are welcome to join. Practice times will<br />
be announced soon. Tickets are $50 price includes the rehearsals, t-<br />
shirt, and evening event with appetizers and cash bar at the Regatta<br />
