Habibullah Hall
Habibullah Hall is an impressive double-storeyed
auditorium. When seen from air, the building
resembles an aircraft. Constructed in 1959, it
has a seating capacity of over 1,700 people and
plays hosts to various events such as lectures,
presentations, musical evenings, debates, quiz
competitions, entertainment programmes, weekly
Hindi and English movies and more.
Also, it is here that the momentous Convocation
Ceremony is held and made glorious by its
state-of-the-art external and internal aesthetics,
facilities, stage equipment and acoustic system.
Spread over 18,000 sq feet, the building also houses
the country’s largest Inter-Services Museum,
segmented into four large galleries and halls.
Displaying 16,000 rare exhibits, the museum is a
veritable treasure house of antique memorabilia,
archives and relics.
Among its prized possessions are Mussolini’s
dagger captured by Indian troops during World
War II, a sapphire-studded silver plaque, original
Stone Age weapons, captured Pakistani and
Portuguese flags and Uzi sub-machine guns.
