musicians in Slovakia aged 16-28
years, being formed as Slovakia’s
national youth orchestra by Music
Centre Slovakia, with the assistance
and inspiration of the EUYO.

Duo Scaramouche, Neža Koželj
and Nadja Rus, are an acclaimed
Slovenian piano duo taught by
Professor Miha Haas. Neža Koželj
and Nadja Rus are students of
Professor Hinko Haas at the
Academy of music in Ljubljana and
have studied extensively abroad.
They have twice been gold medal
and first prize winners in the
Slovenian state competition.

I, Culture Orchestra
I, CULTURE Orchestra consists
of outstanding young musicians
from Poland and the Eastern
Partnership countries. Formed
in 2011 by the Adam Mickiewicz
Institute – a state founded cultural
institution dedicated to promote
Polish culture worldwide, the
Orchestra exists to use the act
of performing music to bring
together people from these
countries. By rehearsing and
performing together these young
musicians communicate and learn
to trust each other in ways that
resonate beyond the concert hall.
Berlin
Vision String Quartet
Founded in 2012, this is a unique
quartet that plays original
compositions and arrangements of
many different styles, as well as the
conventional, classical literature.
The quartet won the 2016
Mendelssohn Prize and comprises
Jakob Encke (violin), Daniel Stoll
(violin), Leonard Disselhorst
(cello) and Sander Stuart (viola).

The Leerorkest
The Leerorkest is an innovative
music education programme in
which every child gets the chance
to learn a musical instrument at
school. The Stichting Leerorkest
(Leerorkest Foundation)
provides the organisational
and pedagogical structure for
the Leerorkest orchestras in
Amsterdam and in several other
cities in Holland and Belgium. As
of 2016 there were 36 orchestras
active in Amsterdam, involving
18 primary schools and 3 high
schools from all across the city.

Coordinator, Deputy Director
for Research and Publishing,
and since 2012, its Director.

of history. His ten books about
Amsterdam, Netherlands and
Europe have earned him great
popularity. Geert Mak participates
actively in Dutch public debate, as
a staunch defender of the values
