Encounter Stillness: Adult Hermitage Retreat
“Celebraon of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth”
Situated in some of the most beauful acreage of Minnesota,
Pacem in Terris is a facility and organizaon dedicated to providing
guests with an opportunity to encounter sllness in its sanctuary
of silence and solitude, where riches beyond the human
imaginaon await the open heart. It is here that you will detach
from the busyness of the world for a while and become one with
nature and Christ. Each guest is prayerfully assigned a cabin, or
what is referred to at Pacem in Terris as a “hermitage,” in which
they will unplug, unwind, and be changed through silence and
solitude, or what author Henri Nouwen called “the furnace of
transformaon.”

present for people in their joys and sorrows? Have you ever
wanted to be trained in the ministry of listening and spiritual
care?
This November, Word of Peace will host a retreat for men and
women who would like to learn more about and be trained in
the ministry of acve listening, caring for people, being a nonjudgmental
presence, and being in relaonship with others.
We’ll carpool to Glencoe and hunt in
the morning, then enjoy a catered
lunch before returning to Rogers.

will be preached on in the upcoming Sunday
and Monday worship service. Each
week we will learn about the context,
history, and meaning around these Bible
verses and how these verses may be
speaking to us today. Aer we gather in
discussion, it will be fun to hear how the
pastors preach about the Bible verses we
have explored together. You need not be
a Bible expert to parcipate—just a desire
to grow in faith, explore the Bible
together, and have fun.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous® is a gathering of men and women who
share their experiences, strength and hope with each other so
that they may solve their common problem and help others to
recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership
is a desire to stop drinking. The primary purpose is to stay
sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. There is an
AA meeng at Word of Peace on Thursday evenings at 7:00
pm in Room 161.
BeFrienders Ministry

BeFrienders provide a listening presence to people who are
sick, mourning, recently divorced, lonely, struggling with an
elderly parent or a spouse with Alzheimer's, and more. Trained
BeFrienders are available now to help by listening to people in
a caring and non-judgmental way, and by providing people
with a supporve friend who is there for you. If you would like
to have a BeFriender visit you or if you would like to become a
trained Befriender, please contact Krisn Skare.

Voices of Peace (Adult Vocal
Choir)
Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 PM
Angel Wings gets its name from
the classic movie "It's a Wonderful
Life." Remember when Clarence
tells George that every me
a bell rings an angel gets his
wings? This is a Level 3, 5-octave
bell choir that performs in worship
once a month. The ability to
read music is a requirement to
play in this group.
Voices of Peace is open to all
singers from high school through
adult. The choir sings in worship
on the third Sunday of each
month. They sing a varied repertoire,
from choral classics to contemporary
favorites. There is no
audion required and everyone
is welcome to join at any me.

Deo Glorias (To God be the Glory)
is a group of women, high
school age and older, that sings
gospel favorites. Deo Glorias
sings in worship once a month.
Three Rivers Chorale
Is Making a Comeback!
The Three Rivers Chorale will begin rehearsing
for the 2016-17 season beginning
Monday, September 19. This Rogers
area community choir, directed by Michael
Sahlen, was formed in 2001 to provide
an opportunity for Rogers area singers
to parcipate in a community choir
that would perform music of a high caliber.
The Chorale will provide area residents
with cultural opportunies to hear
great choral music and sound.
