Pacem in Terris is a facility and organizaon dedicated to providing<br />

guests with an opportunity to encounter sllness in its sanctuary<br />

<strong>of</strong> silence and solitude, where riches beyond the human<br />

imaginaon await the open heart. It is here that you will detach<br />

from the busyness <strong>of</strong> the world for a while and become one with<br />

nature and Christ. Each guest is prayerfully assigned a cabin, or<br />

what is referred to at Pacem in Terris as a “hermitage,” in which<br />

they will unplug, unwind, and be changed through silence and<br />

solitude, or what author Henri Nouwen called “the furnace <strong>of</strong><br />

presence, and being in relaonship with others.<br />

the morning, then enjoy a catered<br />

verses and how these verses may be<br />

speaking to us today. Aer we gather in<br />

discussion, it will be fun to hear how the<br />

pastors preach about the Bible verses we<br />

have explored together. You need not be<br />

a Bible expert to parcipate—just a desire<br />

to grow in faith, explore the Bible<br />

share their experiences, strength and hope with each other so<br />

that they may solve their common problem and help others to<br />

recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership<br />

is a desire to stop drinking. The primary purpose is to stay<br />

sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. There is an<br />

BeFrienders Ministry<br />

sick, mourning, recently divorced, lonely, struggling with an<br />

elderly parent or a spouse with Alzheimer's, and more. Trained<br />

BeFrienders are available now to help by listening to people in<br />

a caring and non-judgmental way, and by providing people<br />

with a supporve friend who is there for you. If you would like<br />

to have a BeFriender visit you or if you would like to become a<br />

<strong>of</strong> life and are <strong>of</strong> diverse ages, economic statuses, and social<br />

Choir)<br />

Angel Wings gets its name from<br />

the classic movie "It's a Wonderful<br />

Life." Remember when Clarence<br />

tells George that every me<br />

a bell rings an angel gets his<br />

wings? This is a Level 3, 5-octave<br />

bell choir that performs in worship<br />

once a month. The ability to<br />

read music is a requirement to<br />

play in this group.<br />

Voices <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> is open to all<br />

singers from high school through<br />

adult. The choir sings in worship<br />

on the third Sunday <strong>of</strong> each<br />

month. They sing a varied repertoire,<br />

from choral classics to contemporary<br />

favorites. There is no<br />

audion required and everyone<br />

is welcome to join at any me.<br />

(Women’s Vocal Ensemble)<br />

Deo Glorias (To God be the Glory)<br />

is a group <strong>of</strong> women, high<br />

school age and older, that sings<br />

gospel favorites. Deo Glorias<br />

sings in worship once a month.<br />

Three Rivers Chorale<br />

Is Making a Comeback!<br />

The Three Rivers Chorale will begin rehearsing<br />

for the <strong>2016</strong>-17 season beginning<br />

Monday, September 19. This Rogers<br />

area community choir, directed by Michael<br />

Sahlen, was formed in 2001 to provide<br />

an opportunity for Rogers area singers<br />

to parcipate in a community choir<br />

that would perform music <strong>of</strong> a high caliber.<br />

The Chorale will provide area residents<br />

with cultural opportunies to hear<br />

great choral music and sound.<br />

<strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> hosts this musical outreach<br />
