A distanza di oltre un secolo dalla sua<br />
fondazione Gherardini continua ad essere<br />
sinonimo di artigianalità, eleganza e<br />
italianità.<br />
La licenza con Formitalia rappresenta un<br />
importante capitolo di un nuovo corso che<br />
andrà a consolidare Gherardini come una<br />
delle griffe del lusso artigianale italiano<br />
anche nel settore arredamento.<br />
<strong>GHERARDINI</strong> <strong>HOME</strong> comes from<br />
collaboration with Formitalia Luxury<br />
Group, a leading Tuscan enterprise that has<br />
been licensed to manufacture Gherardini,<br />
customized furniture and that pours the<br />
distinct traits of the brand into items designed<br />
to decorate our homes.<br />
Over one hundred years have passed<br />
since its establishment, yet Gherardini<br />
continues to stand as a synonym to top- level<br />
craftsmanship, elegance and Italian style.<br />
The license agreement with Formitalia<br />
represents an important chapter of a new<br />
way that will consolidate Gherardini as one<br />
of the famous brand of the name fashion<br />
houses of luxury Italian artisan, also in the<br />
home decor sector.

THE MAIN STEPS<br />
1885<br />
Garibaldo Gherardini opens his first workshop in Florence,<br />
specialized in the cases production.<br />
1900<br />
Later, a wider range of items are successfully introduced: bags,<br />
clutch bags with jewel closure, the use of brocade, satin, and<br />
pleated leather for a sophisticated luxury.<br />
1915<br />
Garibaldo opens his first shop in Via della Vigna Nuova in Florence.<br />
1945<br />
Gherardini’s second generation contributes to the expansion and<br />
success of the house.<br />
1952<br />
Made in Italy takes off and large-scale production of leather goods<br />
begins in the Via della Vigna Nuova store. This marks the birth of<br />
the Gherardini brand.<br />
1960<br />
Thanks to the success of the Gherardini style, new headquarters<br />
are established in Casellina Scandicci (next to Florence).<br />
1969<br />
The first collection of women’s leatherwear is on the catwalk in the<br />
Sala Bianca at Pitti Palace.<br />
1973<br />
The beginning of Total Look: the Florentine house expands its<br />
production to clothing, sunglasses and foulards.<br />
1974<br />
Creation of the “GHE” cotton fabric, in partnership<br />
with Gommatex Spa. Two years later, the innovative fabric able to<br />
reduce the weight of the bag will become “Ghe Softy” with cotton<br />
replaced by Nylon.<br />
1975<br />
Pitti Donna makes its debut and Gherardini is in the fashion show<br />
with its soft clothes and leather-trimmed trench coats: its icon is a<br />
little blonde from London, her name is Twiggy.<br />

1981<br />
Creation of a men’s line of accessories.<br />
1982<br />
Tabloid Women’s Wear Daily announces the launch of<br />
Gherardini Perfume Donna, an exclusive fragrance.<br />
1990<br />
The founders transfer the trademark.<br />
2000<br />
The brand undertakes a powerful action to re-launch its<br />
image.<br />
2005<br />
The GHE SOFTY fabric is further developed using state-of-theart<br />
materials.<br />
2007<br />
The brand joins the Braccialini Group: the Historical Archives<br />
Project is launched.<br />
2008<br />
The new holding begins a process aimed at repositioning the<br />
brand as a luxury brand.<br />
2009<br />
Signing of license agreements for umbrellas, foulards, scarves<br />
and ties: total look target.<br />
2010<br />
Gherardini celebrates 125 years of history, with an exhibition<br />
at La Triennale in Milan and the publication of monograph<br />
book.<br />
A new, more luxurious image is devised for Gherardini that<br />
embraces products, brand perception and a new concept<br />
for its boutiques.<br />
2011<br />
Creation of a new Worldwide Concept Store. Conception of<br />
the Made to Order project.<br />
2012<br />
Gherardini presents LaPretiosadiLeonardo.<br />
