UtSC
on the Change
Marjan Asadullah,
News Editor
Currently, UTSC is under a $10
million renovation, turning the section of its
south campus, where the old gym and a few
classrooms were located, into the new social
science department.
Since the inception of the Pan Am
Athletic Center, just northwest of the main
campus, students have been afforded a
larger gym space with better equipment and
more leisure room. The new social science
department, said to be completed by the
spring of 2018, will also ensure that more students
have places to study and spend time
with their peers.
Other changes one can expect to
see at UTSC are expanded transit routes.
In a vlog post to the student body, Vice
President External Sitharsana Srithas, told
students that the new LRT extension will
provide students with a better quality TTC
experience. The LRT extension will begin at
Kennedy Station and then to UTSC, where
another subway extension from Kennedy
Station to Scarborough Town Centre will be
made available.
This new subway system is a victory
for students on this campus, particularly
for those that commute to and from school.
Look forward to some great improvements
to our campus, UTSC!
