Apostle (Dr.) Hayford Ikponmwonsa Alile, OFR, NPOM – ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER<br />
Born on the 24th April, 1940, Apostle Hayford Alile briefly attended the University of Ibadan as a<br />
Scholar in Physics and thereafter proceeded to Howard University, Washington D. C., where he<br />
earned his B. A. degree in Economics and Mathematics. He later attended Rutgers Graduate School<br />
of Management, New Jersey, USA for his MBA programme before proceeding to the Harvard<br />
Business School where he bagged his AMP.<br />
Apostle Alile’s rich working history began as an Economic and Financial Consultant to Louis Berger<br />
Inc, East Orange, New Jersey, USA in 1968. Between 1969 and 1972, he served as Assistant<br />
Director, Rutgers University Entrepreneurial Development Centre, New Jersey and Rutgers Minority<br />
Investment Co. Inc. Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, 1972 – 1973. In 1973, he returned to Nigeria to<br />
head the Management Consulting Department of the Centre for Management Development, Lagos,<br />
and was from there he was appointed in 1976 as the Executive Director/CEO of the then Lagos Stock<br />
Exchange (LSE). He later became the Director-General and Chief Executive of The Nigeria Stock<br />
Exchange in 1979. He retired from that position in 1999 and was in the same year appointed to the<br />
Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He subsequently joined the Boards of the Nigerian Security<br />
Printing and Minting Co. Plc, and the Central Securities & Clearing Systems Limited (CSCS).<br />
At the Centre for Management Development, he was responsible for the establishment of the Institute<br />
of Management Consultants (IMCON) and the Nigerian Association of Management Consultants<br />
(NAMCON). He currently holds the underlisted Chairmanship positions, namely:<br />

A life member of the Nigerian Economic Society, he is a Fellow of several professional bodies, namely:<br />

Aposlte Alile holds the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (DSc) from Benue State University,<br />
Makurdi, Nigeria and is also a recipient of the Nigerian National Honour Awards of the Officer of the<br />
Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM).<br />
Apostle Alile has authored several books in management development on Nigeria economy, the<br />
capital market and Christian life. Apostle Alile was the Secretary General of the then National Union of<br />
Nigeria Students (NUNS) 1963/64 and the Treasurer/Trustee of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC)<br />
between 1984-1996.<br />
Apostle Alile is happily married and is currently the Head St. Joseph’s Chosen Church of God Int’l a<br />
church with very large followership within and outside Nigeria
