AGES 14+<br />

ASSISTANT OFFICIAL COURSE<br />

Anyone aged 14 or over interested in gaining an<br />

insight and introduction to the key areas of officiating<br />

that will enable them to assist at track and field<br />

meetings under the supervision of a qualified UKA<br />

Technical Official.<br />

This course will allow delegates to learn:<br />

• The responsibilities and role of an Assistant Official<br />

• Measuring and recording times and distance<br />

• Making, sharing and recording judgements<br />

• Ensuring safety and reporting concerns<br />

• Communicating with athletes and other officials<br />

• Following procedures and applying basic rules.<br />

4 HOURS COURSE<br />

Delivered as a single workshop of four hours in six<br />

sections with both theoretical and practical elements.<br />

Practical qualification based course with formal UKA<br />

licence once qualified. No assessment required, but<br />

evidence of supporting officials at track and field<br />

events is required to gain full qualification.<br />

COSTING<br />

£15 per person. £300 per closed course.<br />

ATHLEACADEMY NEW<br />

The new AthleACADEMY programme<br />

provides athletes aged 14+ with an<br />

opportunity to learn about the various<br />

roles available within the sport.<br />

Learn about coaching to volunteering<br />

and from club management to media<br />

and promotion via the completion of<br />

Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.<br />

Volunteers will be provided with their<br />

own workbook to log their hours and<br />

record their progression.<br />

AGES 16+<br />

COACHING ASSISTANT<br />

By attending the Coaching Assistant<br />

course, you’ll have the knowledge and<br />

skills to deliver effective and engaging<br />

club sessions using task cards and<br />

session plans.<br />

Coaching Assistants will be insured to<br />

assist in the delivery of all aspects of a<br />

session but should be supervised by a<br />

qualified Coach at the same venue.<br />

2 DAYS COURSE<br />

Practical qualification based course<br />

with formal UKA licence once<br />

qualified. No assessment required.<br />

£245 per delegate (£185 if<br />

EA registered member or<br />

volunteering with affiliated club).<br />
