We welcome older adults to our wellness addition! Maintaining<br />

muscle and bone strength, mobility and cardiovascular<br />

health through the aging process increases your quality of life.<br />

Try our single weight stations to build strength and our cardio<br />

equipment to keep your heart healthy. We have low impact elliptical<br />

cross trainers, recumbent bikes and a special seated stair climber<br />

(Nu-Step Machine, used in many rehabilitation programs). Access<br />

our wellness addition/walking track at any time for your own selfdirected<br />

workout or join in our group activities.<br />

AOA STRENGTH CIRCUIT<br />

Our AOA Strength Circuit will introducing you to our strength training<br />

equipment in a safe, structured and controlled environment. AOA<br />

Strength Circuit starts with a simple 6 exercise routine targeting large<br />

muscle groups in both the upper and lower body. The machines are designated<br />

by AOA circuit signs – every 3 months, the exercises will change.<br />

AOA Strength Circuit training and supervision by a CCC fitness professional<br />

are Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Join in on Tuesdays or continue the AOA<br />

Circuit on your own after you have been trained. Free for SilverSneaker<br />

Members and CCC Members, Non-members are welcome to join this great<br />

healthy activity for the daily admission fee.<br />

FOOTSTEPS TO FITNESS<br />

Walk your way to better health! Join in this group walk for a great fitness<br />

activity and a little socializing along the way. We will meet in The Lodge<br />

for a warm-up, then move to the track to get your heart pumping. Each<br />

walk will include a special fitness message.<br />

AOA Fitness<br />

AOA FITNESS ASSESSMENTS<br />

Get baseline measurement of your<br />

fitness level! We will lead you<br />

through seven safe and effective<br />

functional fitness tests designed<br />

for independent adults, age 65<br />

and older. The tests provide feedback<br />

on activities for daily living<br />

through related fitness components:<br />

Cardiovascular endurance,<br />

muscular strength, flexibility,<br />

power, agility and balance. Your<br />

assessment can be compared to<br />

peer population performance and<br />

we can help set plans to improve<br />

these measurements. We will offer<br />

two assessments opportunities in<br />

2009 so you can track your<br />

progress! Get measured, get<br />
