LEE-ANN BOUCHER is the new Treasurer for
Anson General Hospital’s board of directors.
She has an Honour's degree in Psychology and
a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from the
University of Ottawa. Lee-Ann started her
career in child protection, migrated to children's mental
health to eventually become a program manager of both.
She has been working for Family Health Teams since 2007
except for one year where she was a school social worker.
She is the sole proprietor of a private counselling practice
since 2013 which offers a variety of counselling services
including contracts with a variety of Employee Assistance
Programs. Since starting her involvement with Family Health
Teams she has had a keen interest in the politics and
functioning of health care services in Ontario.
IRMA CLARKE is the new Treasurer for Bingham
Memorial Hospital’s board of directors. She has
worked in the health care field for 25 years. She
attended college when she was 40 years old to
get her nursing degree and returned 10 years
later to become a paramedic. Irma then had the opportunity
to return to nursing as a clinical supervisor for 45 PSWs as
well as 200 home care clients. She has also had the pleasure
of working as a team member with all the additional support
service agencies that provide care such as the CCAC, VON,
physio department, community housing, mental health,
pharmacists and several doctors. She enjoys working towards
improving and resolving issues and look forward to continuing
to work for the betterment of our communities.
Pembroke Regional Hospital
DANIEL BURKE was recently appointed to the
board of directors at the Pembroke Regional
Hospital. He was an excellent resource as a
community representative on the Pembroke
Regional Hospital Resource and Audit
Committee for the 2015/2016 year. He is a Chartered
Accountant/CPA who is working at a local accounting firm
in Pembroke, ON and he brings additional financial acumen
to the board.
Peterborough Regional Health Centre
DR. LESLEY BEAGRIE’s recently joined the
board of directors at the Peterborough Regional
Health Centre. Her present position is Associate
Professor, Faculty of Health at York University,
where she is directly engaged in the new Global
Health undergraduate program. Her background is in
academic nursing education, receiving her PhD in nursing
from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Her
career has involved significant contributions to program
development in administrative positions in four universities,
directing and implementing nursing curricula. She is the
founding director of the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing
(2000-2004), and has recently completed a five-year term as
Associate Dean for community and international programs
in the Faculty of Health at York. Presently she is the co-chair
of the pan-university mental health steering committee,
providing oversight and implementation of an integrated
mental health strategy for the university, addressing staff,
faculty and student well-being. Over the coming year she is
also the Chair of the York University Senate. She has been a
member of key provincial, national and international associations
including leadership positions in interprofessional
groups addressing team approaches to wellness.
DR. CHRISTOPHER M.S. FEINDEL is a new
member of the board at the Peterborough
Regional Health Centre. He is Professor of
Surgery at the University of Toronto and the
Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at University Health
Network where he has been an academic cardiac surgeon
for 30 years. He began his career as an electrical engineer
at the National Research Council of Canada and returned
to school to obtain his MD from McGill in 1976. He obtained
his General Surgery Fellowship from the University of
Western Ontario and his Cardiovascular and Thoracic
Surgery Fellowship at the University of Toronto in 1984.
He obtained a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from
Harvard University in 2001 and completed the Institute of
Corporate Director’s (ICD) Program at the University of
Toronto Rotman School of Management in 2015. His surgical
specialties include aortic valve repair, transcatheter aortic
valve implantation (TAVI), surgery for aortic aneurysms,
mitral valve repair and complex reoperations of the heart.
