WELCOME ON BOARD<br />

MICs Group of Health Services<br />

LEE-ANN BOUCHER is the new Treasurer for<br />

Anson General Hospital’s board of directors.<br />

She has an Honour's degree in Psychology and<br />

a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from the<br />

University of Ottawa. Lee-Ann started her<br />

career in child protection, migrated to children's mental<br />

health to eventually become a program manager of both.<br />

She has been working for Family Health Teams since 2007<br />

except for one year where she was a school social worker.<br />

She is the sole proprietor of a private counselling practice<br />

since 2013 which offers a variety of counselling services<br />

including contracts with a variety of Employee Assistance<br />

Programs. Since starting her involvement with Family Health<br />

Teams she has had a keen interest in the politics and<br />

functioning of health care services in Ontario.<br />

IRMA CLARKE is the new Treasurer for Bingham<br />

Memorial Hospital’s board of directors. She has<br />

worked in the health care field for 25 years. She<br />

attended college when she was 40 years old to<br />

get her nursing degree and returned 10 years<br />

later to become a paramedic. Irma then had the opportunity<br />

to return to nursing as a clinical supervisor for 45 PSWs as<br />

well as 200 home care clients. She has also had the pleasure<br />

of working as a team member with all the additional support<br />

service agencies that provide care such as the CCAC, VON,<br />

physio department, community housing, mental health,<br />

pharmacists and several doctors. She enjoys working towards<br />

improving and resolving issues and look forward to continuing<br />

to work for the betterment of our communities.<br />

Pembroke Regional Hospital<br />

DANIEL BURKE was recently appointed to the<br />

board of directors at the Pembroke Regional<br />

Hospital. He was an excellent resource as a<br />

community representative on the Pembroke<br />

Regional Hospital Resource and Audit<br />

Committee for the 2015/2016 year. He is a Chartered<br />

Accountant/CPA who is working at a local accounting firm<br />

in Pembroke, ON and he brings additional financial acumen<br />

to the board.<br />

Peterborough Regional Health Centre<br />

DR. LESLEY BEAGRIE’s recently joined the<br />

board of directors at the Peterborough Regional<br />

Health Centre. Her present position is Associate<br />

Professor, Faculty of Health at York University,<br />

where she is directly engaged in the new Global<br />

Health undergraduate program. Her background is in<br />

academic nursing education, receiving her PhD in nursing<br />

from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Her<br />

career has involved significant contributions to program<br />

development in administrative positions in four universities,<br />

directing and implementing nursing curricula. She is the<br />

founding director of the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing<br />

(2000-2004), and has recently completed a five-year term as<br />

Associate Dean for community and international programs<br />

in the Faculty of Health at York. Presently she is the co-chair<br />

of the pan-university mental health steering committee,<br />

providing oversight and implementation of an integrated<br />

mental health strategy for the university, addressing staff,<br />

faculty and student well-being. Over the coming year she is<br />

also the Chair of the York University Senate. She has been a<br />

member of key provincial, national and international associations<br />

including leadership positions in interprofessional<br />

groups addressing team approaches to wellness.<br />

DR. CHRISTOPHER M.S. FEINDEL is a new<br />

member of the board at the Peterborough<br />

Regional Health Centre. He is Professor of<br />

Surgery at the University of Toronto and the<br />

Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at University Health<br />

Network where he has been an academic cardiac surgeon<br />

for 30 years. He began his career as an electrical engineer<br />

at the National Research Council of Canada and returned<br />

to school to obtain his MD from McGill in 1976. He obtained<br />

his General Surgery Fellowship from the University of<br />

Western Ontario and his Cardiovascular and Thoracic<br />

Surgery Fellowship at the University of Toronto in 1984.<br />

He obtained a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from<br />

Harvard University in 2001 and completed the Institute of<br />

Corporate Director’s (ICD) Program at the University of<br />

Toronto Rotman School of Management in 2015. His surgical<br />

specialties include aortic valve repair, transcatheter aortic<br />

valve implantation (TAVI), surgery for aortic aneurysms,<br />

mitral valve repair and complex reoperations of the heart.<br />
