Colorful murals have been
popping up on business
walls in the Murray Hill, with
some being completed just in time
for the planned celebration of the
community’s 100th anniversary
on Sept. 17. The vibrant street art
helps bring the area to life. Kristen,
a barista at Vagabond Coffee, says,
“They make the drive a lot brighter.
It seems and feels like everything
is blossoming and growing a little
bit.”
Murray Hill also is home to the
Tooth Fairy featured on this issue’s
cover. You’ll find the RouxArt
mosaic featuring her likeness on
the side wall of All Smiles Dental
Center.

The Community
Murray Hill regular Angel frequents Vagabond Coffee because
he likes the community and atmosphere of the area. “You feel

the friendly people, she enjoys
the variety of available lunch
options. “If I want sushi, I can go
to Fresh Market. I can get a burrito
at Burrito Gallery, a burger [at
BurgerFi]. Over here it’s great.”
That’s not even mentioning Brixx
Wood Fired Pizza and HOBNOB
at Unity Plaza, along with Corner
Bakery Cafe and Johnny’s Deli, as
other area favorites.

The Colors
John, another Zoë’s Kitchen worker, has lived in Riverside his
entire life. As Brooklyn has started to blossom, he’s grown to
appreciate the colorful greeting during his commute. “You see the bright
colors of the businesses. Brooklyn has a different feel. It’s a little change
of scenery.”

Nackashi that are based on historic photos of the area.
