DAY 15 ATHENS. (Fri.)
Sightseeing with a Local Guide features a visit to the world-famous
ACROPOLIS, perched high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city. Here,
see the Parthenon, the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the Temple
of Athena Nike, and enjoy a panoramic view that includes glimpses of
the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Theater of Dionysus, and the beautifully
preserved Theseum, where Socrates taught. Later, a city orientation tour
features the Old Parliament House and a picture stop at the Panathenaic
Stadium. Built in the 2nd century AD, it is the only stadium in the
world built entirely of marble, and was host to the opening and closing
ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896. The rest of the day is at
leisure. Tonight, a farewell dinner awaits you at a local restaurant. (B,D)

This morning, arrive in Nauplia. A full day in this charming city allows
you time to stroll along the spectacular waterfront and historic buildings
crowned by Palamidi fortress, which overlooks 15th-century Bourtzi

Day 17 CRUISING: CHANIA & RETHYMNON, CRETE. (Sun.)
Chania, Crete’s second-largest city, awaits today! Stroll around the old
port with its stunning Venetian harbor, home to wonderful waterfront
restaurants and cafés. Marvel at the historic buildings, and check out the
shops selling local products such as raki (anise-flavored Turkish alcohol),
herbs, and handicrafts. Later visit RETHYMNON. (B,L,D)
Day 18 CRUISING: CESME, TURKEY–MYKONOS, GREECE. (Mon.)
Two ports of call are on tap today. First up: coastal Cesme, known as Kysos
in ancient times. Situated on the tip of the Cesme Peninsula, this popular
resort area is one of the best wind- and kite-surfing destinations in the world.
Next, discover mountainous Mykonos with its iconic windmills, dazzling white
houses, trendy boutiques, and shaded tavernas. (B,L,D)
Day 19 CRUISING: SANTORINI. (Tue.)
This morning, call at Santorini (weather permitting), the “Black Pearl of the
Aegean.” Consider joining an optional excursion to the volcano or to the clifftop
village of Oia for one of the world’s most breathtaking panoramas. (B,L,D)
Day 20 CRUISING: RHODES. (Wed.)
Our port of call this morning is Rhodes to explore the Old Town with its
ramparts and palaces built by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades.
In LINDOS see Athena’s fabulous temple, or, if sightseeing isn’t your thing,
sun-drenched public beaches and the colorful shopping district are an easy

Day 21 CRUISING IZMIR, TURKEY. (Thu.)
As we cruise towards Izmir, Turkey’s second-largest port, there’s plenty of
time to relax on board this morning. Don’t miss the included excursion to the

Day 22 LAVRION, GREECE (DISEMBARKATION)-ATHENS. (Fri.)
After breakfast on board, disembark at Lavrion and return to Athens. The
