is boxing clever
with classroom

Faraday Prep School has taken
delivery of two new classrooms
this summer – by up-cycling
shipping containers.
The expanded space has given
Faraday increased flexibility for
lessons and extra curricular
activities.

The classes, consisting of four
containers bolted together,
were craned into place in
August and contractors
worked around the
clock to fit them out
for the new school
term.
The new spaces join two
other container classrooms and
a container rooftop playground,
which allows for all-weather
play.
“Containers make perfect
spaces and they are in keeping
with our riverside location," said

Gillam. "We are excited about
being able to increase
our space and provide
even more interesting,
educational and
fun activities for our
pupils.”
Faraday teaches a
traditional curriculum in a
creative environment, and
is located beside the Rivers
Thames and Lea at historic
Trinity Buoy Wharf. It is the only
school in London to have a
lighthouse on site.
Another new development
is the addition of an extra
morning bus, which now serves
the route from Stratford, down
to Mile End and Langdon Park.
This brings the total number of
stops available to 22, travelling
across East London and from
south of the river.
Additional after school clubs
this term include gardening, spy
club and computer coding, with
late care available until 5.30pm.
Regular open mornings give an
opportunity for a tour of the
school, with the next available
dates at 9.30am on 8 and 22
November.
