<strong>Holliston</strong> Garden Club Hosts “Container Gardening for the Holidays”<br />

Program by Deborah Trickett on November 4 Open to All<br />

The <strong>Holliston</strong> Garden Club<br />

has announced that the presenter<br />

at their traditional holiday program<br />

will be Deborah Trickett,<br />

the owner of The Captured Garden,<br />

an award-winning container<br />

garden designer and a Massachusetts<br />

certified horticulturist and<br />

landscape professional. Unique<br />

winter boxes and other containers<br />

will be created as a live demonstration<br />

on Friday, November<br />

4, <strong>2016</strong> beginning at 7:30 p.m/<br />

at St. Mary’s Church Parish Hall,<br />

at 8 Church Street in <strong>Holliston</strong>.<br />

A wide array of hors d’oeuvres<br />

and sweets prepared by Garden<br />

Club members will precede the<br />

demonstration, starting at 7 p.m.<br />

Deborah delights in creating<br />

beautiful, unique designs by<br />

combining unusual plant material<br />

and creative design ideas to<br />

create containers that are truly<br />

one-of-a-kind. She has worked<br />

in the garden industry for over 30<br />

years, starting with a greenhouse<br />

job at age 13. Deborah has spoken<br />

at the New England Spring<br />

Flower show and the Philadelphia<br />

International Flower Show,<br />

and teaches classes at the Arnold<br />

Arboretum in Boston. Her work<br />

has been featured in the Boston<br />

Globe, The American Gardner,<br />

Garden Gate and New England<br />

Home magazines as well as<br />

on the TV show New England<br />

Dream Home.<br />

Proceeds from the event will<br />

benefit the <strong>Holliston</strong> Garden<br />

Club’s many civic projects, which<br />

include tree and flower plantings<br />

throughout the town, programs<br />

for children and seniors, and<br />

Arbor Day events. The Club also<br />

provides scholarships and educational<br />

grants to benefit <strong>Holliston</strong><br />

students. There is a raffle table<br />

and a raffle drawing of Deborah<br />

Tricketts containers following the<br />

program.<br />

Gardens” are $12 in<br />

advance and $15 at the door. Advance<br />

tickets may be purchased<br />

will hold its annual Applefest from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.<br />

on Saturday, <strong>October</strong> first. This event includes a huge<br />

tag sale, homemade jams and jellies, baked goods<br />

table, raffles, pumpkin decorating, face painting, food,<br />

joined in the festivities with Representative Dykema and spoke about<br />

current issues and state initiatives relevant to seniors.<br />

a member of The Franklin Children’s<br />

Christina is also an avid runner<br />

and is training for her first marathon<br />

in November. Competing is<br />

in Christina’s DNA, and we all<br />

know she joined the right team!<br />
