New to the market: cubic packaging for liquids by<br />
<strong>Hans</strong> <strong>Kolb</strong> <strong>Wellpappe</strong><br />
The transportation of hazardous chemicals is by definition associated with<br />
some risks. Packaging obviously plays as key role when it comes to safety.<br />
<strong>Hans</strong> <strong>Kolb</strong> <strong>Wellpappe</strong> has launched the LiquiBox, a bag-in-box packaging<br />
solution suitable for hazardous liquids. It is available in capacities from five to<br />
25 litres and is primarily intended for customers in the pharmaceutical,<br />
automotive and chemical industries.<br />
The cubic container is a viable alternative to plastic canisters, buckets or<br />
drums, as it is easier to handle, stack and dispose of. Roland Menth, product<br />
manager at KOLB, explains that the container is supplied as a flat and only<br />
unfolded just before it is filled. He further outlines one of the product's key<br />
advantages, namely that "the plastic bag and the folding box are supplied<br />
and disposed of separately. This saves a lot of space. As the bag is also cubic<br />
in shape, the liquid fills every corner of the container, providing additional<br />
stability to the packaging and making it easier to stack. As the filled boxes<br />
are very sturdy, the LiquiBox solution is particularly suitable for hazardous<br />
substances."
The LiquiBox is also easier to empty than a conventional liquid bag. The<br />
product manager further emphasises that the box is very suitable for high-<br />
quality print.<br />
