Yet another market innovation: A highly original
corner and edge packaging protection system

HANS KOLB Wellpappe presents “COR-EDGE” – an innovative corner
and edge packaging protection system that is extremely efficient,
easy to use and very compact.
COR-EDGE distinguishes itself through its flexibility, the ease with
which it can be stored, and its compactness – which is maintained
throughout all of the stages of the packaging process. CORE-EDGE is
used predominantly in the furniture and wood industry, but is also
suitable for use on metal and plastic materials. “CORE-EDGE consists
of two flat, die-cut pieces of cardboard that can be easily assembled
to form a U-shape, and then slid over the edge or corner requiring
protection. The pre-tensioned sides then automatically adapt
themselves to the packaged product, removing the need for any
additional protection provided through the use of foil-wrap or other
types of packaging.“ Explained Georg Lübeck, head of packaging
development at HANS KOLB Wellpappe. The multiple perforations
enable CORE-EDGE to be bent from anything between 0 to 90
degrees – assuring, according to the manufacturer – “round-the
corner protection”.

savings across the entire logistics chain. It is also very versatile, i.e.

that CORE EDGE has huge potential as a simple and highly effective
protective system for products whose corners and edges require
