CRICKET A GAME FOR ALL NEW ZEALANDERS A GAME FOR LIFE THE BEST PLAYERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS AND SUPPORT IN CRICKET FINANCIAL SUCCESS Cricket will be a game for all Aucklanders; a game without barriers – a game that can be played anywhere, by anyone. Whatever the individual circumstances, Kiwis will be given every reason to celebrate and engage with cricket as their game, for life. An aspirational performance culture, underpinned by quality people, systems and facilities will produce winning Aces and Hearts that resonate with Aucklanders and represent the best of Auckland’s values and culture. Cricket will be one family that celebrates Auckland’s rich diversity, built on a sustainable financial model, and with a quality and consistency of governance that nurtures the game at community level and provides pathways towards success on the domestic and international stage. We will take a best practice approach to all our activities for the betterment of the game in Auckland. THE BEST PLAYERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS AND SUPPORT IN CRICKET Quality environments and people who produce winning Aces and Hearts. The Aces and Hearts are the shopwindow of cricket in Auckland. We will pursue and develop quality high performance environments and people to produce world-class players and teams. We will drive a culture of improvement with a view to consistently producing winning teams that resonate with Aucklanders. Our club and school competitions will entertain and excite while fostering the development of players, coaches and officials who are ready to perform in the domestic game. AUCKLAND’S SUMMER GAME Cricket will be the game for all Aucklanders; a game that embraces and celebrates the Kiwi way of life and our spirit of fairness and respect. A game that can be played by anyone, anywhere, whether it is at the beach or on the oval; informal or first-class. Cricket will fully embrace the diversity that Auckland offers. Aucklanders are part of the game because they love it, they enjoy their time in the game, whether as a player, fan, volunteer, coach, administrator or match official. Our mission will be to nurture supporters that follow club, association and nation, and builds growth across the cricket family. Our supporters will have a love for the game born out of their strong connections with their local cricket community. The world of supporter engagement will be both personal and digital: multiplatform, multi-media, mobile and social. Cricket will have improved reach through its digital channels to promote more interaction with supporters, improving our conversations, boosting match attendances and viewership, and growing brand visibility. AN ALIGNED AND VIBRANT CRICKET COMMUNITY Embrace the growth and diversity that repsrent the future of Auckland. Cricket will be viewed as a leading sport in Auckland, part of our regional identity underpinned by quality performances on the field and strong administration. We will have an empowered cricket community based upon a decentralised governance and management strategy. We will have the agility and professionalism to respond to the opportunities and changes in our community and in our game. We will leverage our local and national partnerships, including with New Zealand Cricket, cultivating and developing closer relationships with key stakeholders, to ensure we are best-placed to achieve our strategic vision.
