Food Insecurity Persists Despite students’ Efforts
who were food insecure tended to eat less often in the dining hall – 69
percent reported eating nine meals or fewer there per week. In addition,
46 percent of food insecure students reported having run out of meal
points before the end of the term at some time in the past, compared to
33 percent of all students on a meal plan.
It seems clear that access to a dining hall meal plan is not necessarily a
cure for food insecurity.
