Welcome from Santa Clara University’s SCU•Presents
WE’RE EXCITED TO INVITE YOU TO EXPLORE
and enjoy our ever-expanding arts at SCU. Just as the
arts open people’s hearts and minds through inventiveness
and creativity, our doors are open to students, staff,
and the community at large to experience all the beauty
and inspiration that art has to offer.
With the goal of social engagement through the arts,
we have a wide variety of new, exciting events planned
that are designed to inspire and entertain. And perhaps,
we all may learn something about ourselves, our community,
and the world in general while we relish these
stimulating experiences.
OPENING MORE DOORS
As part of SCU’s tradition of educating the whole person,
we nurture minds and bodies to communicate in
whole new ways— and to entertain you!
DIRECTOR SCU • Presents
This year, Santa Clara University unveils the new SCU
Arts Neighborhood, located along Franklin Street and
the crown jewel of the neighborhood, the dynamic
Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History Building, featuring
a work by internationally acclaimed artist, Dale
Chihuly. The arts neighborhood is a collaboration of all
arts on campus, which includes SCU•Presents, Theatre
& Dance, Art & Art History, Music, and Arts for Social
Justice, as well as Creative Writing, Digital Filmmaking,
and the renowned de Saisset Museum. Our aim is to
make it easy for everyone to find the exciting programs
offered by students, faculty, and visiting artists.
There’s always something going on at SCU—open to
the general public, affordable and/or free—so we hope
you’ll join us and share in the many experiences available
this season.
