Around here the annual Florida-Georgia game is a holiday. Not an
exchange-gifts-and-spend-quality-time-with-the-family holiday, but a getdrunk-three-days-in-a-row-and-wake-up-in-a-bathroom
holiday.
And on this holiday, no matter where you celebrate, you’re sure to find
three things: football, beer and live music. So, Georgia fans grab your
cowboy boots and Gator fans grab your Crocs, because we’re giving you a
look at the performers playing live during the long weekend.

There’s just something about
Country music and football. No
one knows this better than Georgia
native Jon Langston. This singer
earned a Division I scholarship
to play football at Gardner-Webb
University in North Carolina in
2009, but traded in his pads for a
guitar a few years later. Now, he
delivers high-energy Pop Country
performances that are perfect for a
crowd that’s ready to party.

Jimmy Parrish &
The Waves
Considered “Trop Rock,”
Jimmy Parrish and The Waves is
Jimmy Buffet meets Jacksonville.
The group first hit the stage in
Jacksonville Beach at the Seawalk
Pavilion in 2000. Now, the band is
one of the most-requested headline
acts in the country when it comes
to major Parrot Head functions.

Ghostwitch
Originally the solo endeavor of
Ryan Gunwitch-Black, Ghostwitch
mixes classic Country with Blues
and Punk-Rock. The Jacksonvillebased
group has grown into a full
band with a wave of mutilation.

DJ Kevin Tos,
DJ Patrick Harlow,
DJ Davin Hydro
These guys are part of Party
Solution Entertainment, a fullservice
DJ and Entertainment
company. Tos, Harlow and Hydro
mix tracks from all genres,
including Oldies, Rock, Disco,
Country, Top 40, Hip-Hop and
House. Tos describes his taste
in music as “any” and “all.” His
motto is: “Music is like pizza, it’s
never bad.”

little bit Rock ‘n Roll. So it’s no
surprise that Jacksonville-based
performer J Collins has a Country
Rock sound with lyrics that pay
homage to the American workingclass
hero. If you’re looking for
someone the whole family can
sway to — Collins is your man.
