Tutti Per L'Arte

Sónia was born on the third of May 1989 in Covilhã (Portugal). She
started studying cello at twelve years old in the Professional School of
Arts with the Professor Luís Quaresma, Rogério Peixinho and Miguel
Matias.
She has graduated in University of Music and Performing Arts with the
professor Marco Ceccato, and is currently attending her Master in the
same school with the same professor.
She was publicly honored by the Covilhã Town Hall for the merit of the
obtained classification as a student in high school (2006/2007).
She played solo for the first time with 16 years old with the Stringed
Orchestra from EPABI (Escola professional de Artes da Covilhã).
She held several training Masters of Baroque Orchestra under the
guidance of the conductor Rogério Peixinho, Bejamin Chenier,
Amandine Beyer, Marco Ceccato and Ana Mafalda Castro and has
participated in a Summer traineeship with the Orchestra of Young
Momentum Perpetuum, under the guidance of Martin André and in the
I traineeship of the symphonic Band of Beira Interior.
She was part of the string quartet “Valkyries” with the professor Gian
Marco.
She collaborates with the project “Cronus” and in the Foco Musical. She
held several Master classes from cello, conducted by the professor Jad
Baharal, Miguel Rocha and Jiannis Toulis. She took part in the IV, V, VI,
VII, and IX course of ancient music in Linda-a-Velha, in which she
finished in second place. She was a member of the Orchestra in
conducting the concert “Paixão Segundo S. João de Bach” Under the
guidance of Bárbara Franck.
She has applied for the Academy Montis Regalis in Mondovi, Italy, in
which she became a deputy. She was present in the traineeships
“Intensive Programme La Follia” in Consenza (Italy) and has
participated in a Music Project in COSMOCAIXA in Madrid (Spain).
Now, she belongs to the chamber group IL “suono dell anima”,
Dolcezza, “Tributo a Zeca Afonso”, Time Shifter, ensemble and “Tutti
Per L’Arte”Orchestra.
