Testing spring operated
pressure safety valves in situ
The PreVenTest is a robust,
but ingeniously built system
for testing all types and sizes of
spring operated pressure safety
valves ‘In-Situ’, in process and
under the normal operating
conditions. The portable system
enables you to proof the correct
working and performance or
identify PSV’s in need of repair/
maintenance without plant shutdown.
The ‘In-Situ’ PreVenTest
system is standard equipped with
industrial laptop and is available in
two versions; the fully automatic
PreVenTest Advance (optionally
available in intrinsically safe / ATEX
certified version) and the ultralight,
battery driven and handcontrolled
PreVenTest LTC.
Both the Advance and LTC are
suitable for the same extended
range up to 20 kN and completed
with computer registration. The
PreVenTest software is an easily
operated user-friendly software
package that will recognize the set
pressure of the valve and will create
a detailed test certificate after the
test.
PreVenTest Advance:
- Fully automatic, computer
control and operation.
- Very universal and versatile
character.
- Robust portable system.
- Prepared and equipped for all
brands, types and sizes.
Optional features:
- ATEX Intrinsically safe version.
- 50 kN set for testing without
or with limited process / line
pressure.
New absolute pressure
transmitter with different
measuring ranges
As of now, ifm has added
absolute pressure sensors
to its versatile portfolio in the
pressure sensor range.
The new PT05 series with
robust metal measuring cell, G
1/4 process connection, M12
connector and analogue output is
available in the common pressure
ranges up to 10 bar.
Absolute pressure sensors
operate independently of the
surrounding air pressure; that is
what distinguishes them from
sensors working on a relative
measurement principle.
The measurement is not
influenced by weather and
altitude-related fluctuations of air
pressure. This is often a decisive
factor in vacuum applications,
which require a fine pressure
control.
Absolute pressure sensors do
not require ventilation, therefore
incorrect measurement due to a
blocked exhaust is impossible. In
the field of pressure sensors the
new units stand out as specialists
for ”specific duties“.
