day 56 ONE PURPOSE ____ At the kickoff for the One Purpose campaign, President Junn greeted students who received One Purpose scholarships as a result of the fundraising effort. One student held a sign that read, “!Gracias! We appreciate you and your efforts!” FALL CONVOCATION day 60 On day 60, President Junn addressed the campus community at her first Fall Convocation, laying a foundation for the future of Stan State and discussing her five goals for the University. These five goals include: improving student success; supporting faculty and staff success; enhancing the University’s function in the region; building strong partnerships with the community; and celebrating, recognizing and having fun while doing it. To involve the audience in these topics, President Junn incorporated Poll Everywhere, an online polling device that everyone could access through their cell phones! While participating in real time during the presentation, the audience shared what Stanislaus State means to them in one word, and the most popular response was “community.” “When I arrived at Stanislaus, I immediately felt that sense of community,” President Junn said during her address. “I am so excited to collaborate with all of you for the future of Stanislaus State, our students and our region.” 6 FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
day 62 PRESIDENT’S APPRECIATION DINNER ____ President Junn and her husband Dr. Allan Greenberg, pictured here with James and Gena Brenda, hosted an appreciation dinner to thank those who have generously donated to the University. The dinner took place at the Brenda family’s beautiful home on August 31. day 68 RECEPTION AT THE PRESIDENT’S HOME ____ President Junn graciously hosted new faculty and staff, along with other members of the campus and surrounding community, at her home on September 6. Artwork by Stan State’s own faculty, staff and alumni was placed in her home for those at the reception (and future events) to enjoy. President Junn is looking forward to hosting more members of the campus community at her home. WARRIORS EXPLORE DOWNTOWN ____ President Junn had a fantastic time hanging out with students during the Warriors Explore Downtown event on September 14 in downtown Turlock.
