Angel View, a non-profit serving children and adults with disabilities,<br />

was the recipient of $12,000 from Great Autos of<br />

Yesteryear’s 8th Annual Palm Springs Casual<br />

Concours. The recently held car show featured more than 100<br />

classic and exotic cars and attracted hundreds of attendees.<br />

“We’re very happy to have the privilege of donating these proceeds to<br />

Angel View,” said Jay D’Angelo, president, Great Autos of Yesteryear,<br />

“By working together, many people benefit and that is thrilling to me.”<br />

Patti Park, Angel View’s executive director, added, “These funds help<br />

support programs that enrich our clients’ lives. We greatly appreciate<br />

the club’s generosity.”<br />

JFS Auxiliary Presents Screening of New Documentary<br />

“Every Face Has a Name”<br />

JFS Auxiliary presents an exclusive screening of a new documentary, “Every<br />

Face Has a Name.” This compelling documentary is about the survivors of the<br />

German camps who were filmed the day of their liberation, April 28, 1945 as<br />

they disembarked in Sweden. Seventy years later those who could be located<br />

share their amazing stories. It is a deeply affecting and uplifting film.<br />

The film will be followed by a lively and informative discussion hosted by Elliot<br />

Cohen. The audience will hear personal stories of emigration by members of the<br />

community.<br />

UCR Palm Desert Center Auditorium located at 75080 Frank Sinatra Drive<br />

(entrance is on Frank Sinatra Drive east of Cook). Tickets are $30 including light<br />

refreshments and can be reserved at 760-779-9400, ext. 204. Doors open at<br />

2:30 for 3:00 screening. All proceeds benefit the community programs provided<br />

by the JFS Auxiliary.<br />

ABOUT JFS OF THE DESERT<br />

For over 30 years, JFS of the Desert has provided services throughout the<br />

Coachella Valley to those in need, regardless of religion, age, income, ethnicity,<br />

disability, national origin or sexual orientation. JFS services and programs are<br />

made possible through the financial support of Jewish Federation of the Desert,<br />

Desert Healthcare District, Kaiser Permanente, United Way of the Desert and<br />

other grants as well as the generous support of donors. Most of the nearly<br />

3,000 men, women and children served are from low-income households. They<br />

rely on JFS for low cost mental health counseling, crisis intervention and food<br />

support. JFS provides isolated, homebound seniors with care management,<br />

transportation and enrichment activities. JFS offers counseling in local<br />

elementary schools and is also the largest provider of social services to the local<br />

Jewish community.<br />
